McLaren 620R vs Porsche GT2 RS MR on Track. There was an Attempt...

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

One of the most frequently asked questions we get is, which one is faster: the 620R or the GT2 RS MR? Today we can show the differences... for about 30% of the lap. Even though the GT2 RS MR is without a doubt a lot faster car, the McLaren offers more emotion and excitement in our opinion.

@C J B this for sure. A 620r on senna wheels will beat a REGULAR 2rs. Remember all this is a heavily modded MR. Doesn't even count. You can change the wing to AP/APR add easily a tune and exhaust to 900hp and walk a 2rs MR. The comparison means little. Do stock to stock, sure. Mclaren crippled the 620r on tiny 225/285 on 8/11. Of all the Nurburgring onboards that I have seen, this one gave the best sense of speed. I think because of the camera angle catching the peripheral walls as they passed, it really helps the viewer to see what 140+MPH really looks and feels like on the track. This video also does a really good job of showing just hot bumpy and uneven the ring is. The static mount hood cams just don't do the experience justice. Can really see how the weight transfers and transitions affect the physics of the car here, especially when cresting hills at speed. Thanks for this!

I own an S2000 and a GTI. They are similar cars performance wise but the S2000 demands your attention more. Great drive if you put work into it but do you every day? In a car with 2x or 3x the horse power I wouldn't want it to be on the ragged edge, Porsche know what they are doing.

Can't believe a supercar like the 620R why it has such narrow front tires, or any supercar for that matter. Put some 265's on it like the Porsche and then run this same test, 620R would be a completely different car in those slow sharp corners. Porsche might still win, but it'd be a totally different ballgame. Misha it'd be really cool if you guys could do more tests like this with other cars...hint hint. 💪

I would love to see the 620R with the 245s up front from the Senna plus the fine tuning of the geometry to dial out so much understeer. That would likely only be a setup for the advanced drivers though.

LLF modified his 720 with some shims that dial out the understeer. Not too expensive.

IMO a customer Senna cannot attack the ring as hard as a 2RS without damage therefore 2rs wins!

I would like to see the McLaren with better tyres. Better suspension settings/spring rate. Better individual gear ratios. And some + camber. I wonder what would happen then? I can see the + camber on the gt2

The 620R ist the smaller one, so i think you need to take the 765 LT or something like that to compare GT2RS.
