Glad to hear within the the first minute that this one is better than the $40 one. I made a joke to my family (also collectors) that it took mcfarlane all this time to finally make a good classic spawn figure, ironic that after that he releases an even better and more affordable one

$20 for this quality *chefs kiss* meanwhile Darwin cost about 27.99 before the price cuts in Chicago.

As someone who already has your Spawn Axe, I'd actually prefer alternate hands since each Spawn figure so far has been really weird about their hand selection. Still, to anyone reading this who didn't get an Axe off Anthony, do it. Well worth the money. Also when it comes to Spawn costumes, I like both equally, though I suppose if I had to choose I'd go for the Classic outfit.

Personally I just want a definitive Spawn figure. I don’t care if it’s modern or classic, I want a big dynamic cape, enough articulation to pull off some brooding or crouching over a building’s edge poses, and lots of guns.

I LOVE red in Spawn. For me, red works in the classic design without the gauntlet and boot while the black design works better with those.

mcfarlane needs to either put REAL mortal kombat characters in the mortal kombat line or give up the license so someone else can do it. he's using the MK line as a nother way to push more spawn and DC, both of which have their own toy lines. it's ridiculous. look at this wave for example; the ONLY mortal kombat character in the wave is Kabal, and he's a REPAINT. the others are spawn and a DC villain. i don't care if these characters "appear in the games", they're still not MK characters.

This should be the mold for throne Spawn lol. His proportion is waaay better. Maybe that's why they holding on a regular release for that Spawn? Who knows.

I know nothing about spawn... but he's basically the todd mcfalane mascot amd an icon of the 90s so I think I might pick this one up. it's the most appealing spawn todd has made for my taste. great review as always!

I wish McFarlane sold their figures with more hand sculpts. I hate getting figures with one hand being a fist or open hand or whatever, and the other a hand to hold a weapon the figure doesn’t some with. Give me two fists, two open gesture hands, something.

Still amazes me how McFarlane can make larger scale figures with better detail for $20, meanwhile Legends are all $25+ with most having subpar quality.

At least with Spawn though, he is very tall and in fact, he looks short when compared to most other McFarlane figures when he is supposed to be incredibly tall. This makes him fit more 1/12 unintentionally.

This is a cool figure, but wish it was more of a fully classic Spawn. The gauntlet and big boot cover is not accurate to the classic Spawn. Not sure if accurate to the MK game, but I can see it being game accurate as it is cheaper to color swap a game model then having to fully retool it's silhouette.

It’s accurate to the MK model, but weirdly enough this also has a complete lack of the sinewy detail of the main MK Spawn, ironically because the Shadow of Spawn skin smooths him out considerably. So it seems like removing the boot and gauntlet would be 100% possible for the game, but they just don’t.

Question of the day: Also pretty indifferent, but for the longest time I was used to the red on the sides. I’m all for those Spawn Axes making a return, I missed out on them the first time and would love another shot at them. I bought some custom green spawn weapons online a while back but I’m just thinking they printed them and didn’t bother painting it and called it good. Jokes on me, sure. But they worked lol. I had high hopes that this figure would be better than that “deluxe” with a throne figure.

7" Spawn sorta works cause Spawn is close 7' when he's "Spawn. As Al, he was like 6.5 feet tall. But yeah, minus the lack of metal, very cool figure. As for suit, I love both but no red fits with his more savage side. The red is more "superhero".

I took your advice and got one. My eyes on my figure were terrible so I repainted the entire eye area green so idk but other than that its solid for my first spawn figure.

To answer your question of the day. I like the red on the torso plus I prefer the classic outfit a lot my only issue with this figure I have is the gauntlet on the left arm (your right) and I hate the big boot since it's not like that on the real classic Spawn suit which honestly would prefer this to be a 100% classic Spawn or someone can make a 3d print kit of a different arm and leg to match the figure fully to be the classic look that's honestly what I really want (maybe a future idea Anthony 🤔) As for another Axe run I think that would be cool I loved the 3 I ordered to get ready for the Kickstarter spawn figures which I still was extremely disappointed on 😑. Regardless, I would order more tbh also if you did your own Spawn sword that would be awesome too since I know you would make an awesome looking sword or one inspired by The Sword of the spirit in the Spawn comics

I'm torn for the longest time I've had the oldie spawn with the more realistic symbiotic appearance but I also love the original comic look although I'm an all black suit kinda spawn fan, it would be cool if they had a big mega malbolgia figure at this point out already though I would get that for sure

Can you take off the gauntlet or boot? The original Spawn design had the red but didnt have the boot or gauntlet, and it almost looks like they may have continued the paint under the gauntlet like on his other side. Im indifferent to the red as well, it just depends on the design.

If you heat the chain with an air dryer you can sculpt them like what you want. once in the right position pass them under cold water. Do it one chain at a time the result is amazing ;)

@@AnthonysCustoms If you heat enough (must be spaghetti like) and use a very cold water it stay forever. Works on mine. It works with every piece made with this gummy plastic Macfarlane use.

Prefer red, good to hear this is better than the 40 dollar one. I had to do a lot of work to that figure myself…. I have 1 cloth cape that I keep moving from Spawn to Spawn… looks like this one could be the one that gets it for good. But can we please get a Hamburger head Spawn? please.

Unfortunately never legends aren't cheap. Just go to target or Walmart and pick whatever mcfarlane figure you like. There are plenty for 20 bucks

This figure looks great, it just frustrates me how many non mk characters are made in their mk line

I want a Spawn figure and this one seems nice, just annoyed at the lack of hands.

Try a hair dryer on the torso. I saw other ppl getting better range on the torso

And alternate hands and maces too if possible for you to make it. Thank you.

Thanks for calling out that Hasbro Darwin as much as you have been man! The criticism should be relentless. Hasbro has gotten away with some crap figures, and to be fair, I've enabled them, but Darwin really doesn't sit right with me. So thanks for giving voice to that and cheers to swaying me towards picking up a solid $20 Spawn.

It would be cool if he made the same on with no gauntlet or boot like kickstarter but this one is better

no red, it always reminded me of a corset. I accept it as the og spawn(could use a blue wash) , but the capullo era one is infinitely cooler.

I think this figure is better scale with 1:12 figure than 1:10 coz spawn is 6'11 in comics.

I wish Mcfarlane was more consistent with his release- at times you get a pretty good figure like this and then you get a golden turd of a figure. I could care less for Spawn, but I can appreciate a good figure.

I'm not familiar with the "actual design" or anything for this one but I think no red in the body would look better as this red isn't that nice and the way it was spread in the body isn't particularly outstanding.

Not only is the MK line a better Spawn, but it's $5.00 cheaper than the 'official' Spawn line!!

I would love to order again from you, Anthony. But my last purchase from you never arrived. I don't blame you; it's our postal services here that suck big time.
