Wow, despite the light blue, this figure is pure eye candy. Loving it so much, cat wait to having it on my hands.

Man, i remember when i read pt 19 of knightfall, everything escalates perfectly to the last encounter against Bane, my heart pounded way too fast with every page i read! I was 6 yeard old back then. Watching this figure brings back a lot of awesome memories! This is a must get for me. Thanks Brad!

The storyline that started my almost 30 year love affair with comics. 1993 was an amazing year and Knightfall was the crown jewel. There will always be a special place in my heart for these 90s costumes (Armored Daredevil, Sensational Spider Man, Electric Superman, etc.).

I finished reading all of Knightfall recently. I’ve never been so exhilarated as when I read the issue where AzBat takes Bane down. So good!! 😫

So glad this came out before I commited to the Mafex version. Dont get me wrong. The Mafex looks amazing. But I just cannot justify spending over $100 on it when I can get one that looks nearly as good for $20. Honestly if I can I will probably pick up 2 of these. Give it my first real go of customizing to make it look closer to the Mafex with the metallic blue and maybe even a cloth cape,

I dislike the Mafex design. It's armor is too rounded. McFarlane is more angular and looks better at 1/4th the price.

@@thedonofthsht76-58 The Mafex Knightfall isn't over $100. That is a perpetual myth. I paid $64 for the figure and $22 shipping, which isn't Mafex's fault, as it isn't for the Western market and down to the buyer. Yes it is a lot, but the look is at another level even though this McFarlane version is great value. I'm sure with a more accurate blue paint coat and swapped out cloth cape, the McFarlane can look even better and I am almost tempted myself to get it and try.

Love it! I think McFarlane has hit a groove. They are slowly fixing the issues that hinders their figs. Only issue now are the scaling and them making the classic WW and Batman.

I agree we need a classic or even rebirth Wonder woman asap... But we already have about 4 or 5 "Classic" Batmans 2 in the Blue and grey 2 in the black and grey and 1 in the rebirth suit we even have hella options 🤣

Great review. I appreciate the release of this figure because of the value of this character, but I believe some improvements are needed to make this figure look more intimidating: darker tones to match the yellow armor, solid fingers, and more elaborate texture such as we have seen in recent McFarlane's figures. It looks like there's more rubber than plastic.

Todd must be reading my mind recently or something since he's been putting my favorite Batsuits in DC Multiverse line. (AzBat and Batman of Zur-en-arrh) If he makes figures out of more Golden Age heroes and any Kingdom Come designs, my life would be complete.

Honestly one of the better McFarlane Toys reviews I've seen in months. Swamp Thing & Azrael Batman are my favorite releases so far.

I finally opened my Mafex Azbats today and...oh boy. I don't like the lack of accessories but it is a beauty. Didn't even know McFarlane was doing one, but not in the same league, I think. Will be cool posing it with the new Bane though.

Another great video Mr Brad I can't wait to this Batman hits the states

Cheers Brad. Another great review. There is the basis of a great figure here! Wish I was a customizer as woukd be painting those claws and adding a darker wash but, otherwise, I like the look of this. Think he scales really well with the DC Essentials Knightfall Batman.

This came out at a perfect time. I have the Mattel DCUC which still looks good! And it has painted claws! But since I'm out of space as is and a bit more out going now, I'm cutting back on every company, I decided to skip the MAFEX version (need to save my cash for a few road trips) and since I decided to be extra picky with expensive figs (I feel bad about plastic binning expensive figs) and no more "oh! it looks cool and it's cheap, why not?!" figs. I'm very happy to see this. So I really hope I can secure this!

It is what we expect from a Mcfarlane toy. Also the cape seems similar to White Knight's Armored Azrael figure. Good to see they used new materials for the cape.

Since I'm saving a few bucks, I might get this rather than the Mafex version. The proportion of this KF Azrael is pretty decent, minus the paint apps. Thanks for the great review, Brad!

Same. The Mafex looks better but it's out of scale with everything else in my collection anyway..

I got mine on eBay too, because Walmart exclusives are the same thing as not being released in the U.S.

Release date any one? I love it, 90's Knightfall got me really into Batman. Thanks for any response.

With this being labeled "Gold Label", and there being a lot of room for minor improvements, I can't help but think that he'll make a darker toned Knightfall as a standard release soon.

I was an Xbox fanboy but I bought the PS3 version of Arkham Origins solely because it had this exclusive costume!

I would love to have this, but it's not mine or my wallet's choice if I'm able to get this... it's Walmart's. :') Unless... this Gold Label version will have the bright colors and a retail release will be darker? If that's the case I'd prefer the darker colors like the Mafex, but these bright colors are nice too! Great vid man!

Agree, the blue should’ve been darker for AzBats. Still, I like the figure and plan to buy it if I ever see it. Unfortunately it’s a Walmart exclusive, at least in the US, and my luck at finding any kind of Walmart exclusive is not good.

awesome review as always! I was considering this one but you’re right the blue is way too bright and I’m no custom painter. Gonna skip this one

The color scheme is a little off. I will get it, but the Mafex version of Azrael Batman is the most accurate version.

I was 3/4 the way through this video before I realized you were holding this in your hands doing a full on review and not a reveal... has this even been announced how did I not know about this?! a simple black wash might do the trick!

That’s why I think he’s missing paint because of sculpt. Different companies I’ve noticed at least domestically have different strengths and weaknesses. Hasbro has paint and articulation for the most part. Neca has paint and sculpt but articulation is lackluster. Mcfarlane is somewhere in the middle. It has decent articulation and decent paint but absolutely kills it in the sculpting.

but in the case of this figure is molded plastic, the blue and grey should be darker, it really makes the figure look cheaper and look less painted overall, compared to the MAFEX and MATTEL(and DC DIRECT) it gives some unpainted clay prototype vibes with how light the colors are.

Definitely got to leave a comment for not regretting to spend too much. I wouldn't either. My wife on the other hand...

Liking and commenting to get this your video out of KZread purgatory. This is my most anticipated Toddy DC figure. Really did wish the blue was darker and the gray was darker. Makes me wonder if there will be another release with the corrected colors

Walmart inspired ?

I've already said this in another video talking about the figure, but I'll probably say it here as well. To be brutally honest, I am not a fan of the lighter shades of blue and grey used on the figure. It unfortunately makes it look like a prototype that hasn't recieved it's final coat of paint. Those definitely could've been more darker. I also don't like the obvious lack of paint on the gauntlets and the neck area. So far, the only good thing about this figure is that it at least appears to have proper proportions where neither the legs nor arms appear too short or too long. That's definitely a plus considering a lot of Mcfarlane Figures have issues with their proportions. Lastly, I personally like that they used Gold paint instead of yellow on the areas of the suit where they can be seen. Overall, it's an okay figure, but it still has some issues that personally stop me from wanting it.

@@chaisrocha9853 If so, then Todd will be using some backwards logic considering that Gold Label figures usually have better paint on them compared to the standard release. If the standard release version ends up having better & accurate paint compared to the Gold Label version, it will indeed be a really odd choice.

Why so many batmans? Not that I'm complaining but there are other heroes in DC too, like Shazam. give us a Shazam figure, MacFarlane!

For everyone dogging the mafex price. You get what you pay for. You want $20 worth of figure buy McFarland. You want quality buy mafex. Yes I have the mafex. Yup I can afford it. Nope I dont want this cheap representation of a great character.

When you see the figure next to the Mafex the correct colors tones are obvius, blue and grey are too light, the soft colors give the figure a cheap look compared to the Mafex and Mattel, wich is sad cause its my favorite sculpt of the 3

The sculpt looks pretty good, but it TOTALLY looks like an uunfinished figure. Not a fan of the line, as a whole. There are some pretty cool lookin figures, but their issues are just based on Todd making "questionable" decisions based on what HE would like, as an 8 year old (his words)... but, it's not 8 year olds, or their parents for them, who are buying collectable action figures, is it? It IS the parents! Think "collectable" Todd, not "toy". Sik
