Back in elementary school we actually had Ronald McDonald (or someone dressed as him) come show up when I was in kindergarten he gave us little toys to play with and was a fun time. Lowkey I do be missing that day

It heartbreaks me that clowns are starting to become a icon for horror instead of childhood. Many fan made commercials picture Ronald as evil but I know that Ronald isn’t a evil clown, he is my childhood

All the early 2000s commercials are just so nostalgic and it reminds me when life was easy. Hah, looking back I don’t see how Ronald is creepy at all. If anything, he’s probably the most wholesome clown out there.

It’s been like 6 years since we’ve seen a Ronald on screen .

McDonald's was a much better place when you knew Ronald was there. I don't really get why they've phased him out. He's one of the mascot giants of the Fast Food Industry. Alongside Burger King, Colonel Sanders and Wendy all of which are still around in some form. As for Ronald, he is no where to be seen. Ronald McDonald made going to McDonald's feel a lot more welcoming. Every McDonald's you walk into now has been modernized and all the colors were dulled out and boring. Without Ronald, McDonald's is just a bland fast food chain. Sure, I'm too old to really care about the "Magic" surrounding him now, but when I was a kid he was one of the main reasons I wanted to eat there. Particularly those old VHS tapes of his cartoons they gave out in the early 2000s I loved watching those.

Nitro GamePlay I remember liking Ronald as a kid. Thought the idea of the mascot was quite welcoming for McDonald's. When you get older, you obviously lose that mentality. But still, it's a shame he's basically non-existent nowadays. Imo, he gave McDonald's some character.

I think the main problem is that nowadays, clown’s are considered something of horror. With all kinds of horror movies depicting the villain as a murderous clown.

In the 1970s and 1980s I enjoy Ronald McDonald and friends in the commercials. Especially Ronald McDonald, the lovable clown who brings joy and happiness to children. I was in Chicago at one of the public libraries in the neighborhood. To my surprise Ronald McDonald came to the library and made the children very happy. He stayed for 15 minutes in the library .Ronald McDonald made an appearance in the movie, Mack and Me. Going to McDonald's was lots of fun as a child.
