Hill made some unreal game changing saves. Sad our streak came to an end, but what a crazy run that was. The first period was electric to watch, playoff intensity both ways.

It's honestly kinda crazy how much better Vegas plays in front of Adin Hill. It just seems like his goaltending lifts the teams morale so much more that they start to actually score

I mean VGK had a lot riding on this game and I agree Hill really helps this team buckle down. But don’t count out Logan Thompson. He played almost every game since Hill got injured and for what he’s being paid he was incredible the whole time. Honestly hope Vegas can keep them both for a long time.

The fact that this streak transformed them into a playoff-contending team is, in my eyes, a greater accomplishment than breaking a record. Hopefully they see it in the same light!

A. Hill is one hell of a goalie. Vegas sticks were in the lanes breaking up passes and shots all night long. Hard fought game with few mistakes. The Oilers dominated the scoring chances and possession. I thought the Oilers were rusty when it comes to finishing. Vegas got all the breaks and the Oilers didn't get any. Vegas capitalized on their few scoring chances. These two teams will likely face each other in round 1 since it's 2 vs 3 this year. Should be a really good series where the winner once again goes onto win the cup
This was a great game. From a Leafs fan.
From a Vegas fan gg Oilers. I wrote Edmonton off and literally said to myself “the only way this team has a chance is to win for a month straight”. Color me surprised when it happened! This team made history and I’m very excited to see these teams in the playoffs! Go Knights Go!

Vegas locked it down in the 3rd after taking the lead for sure. That being said, they're pretty lucky the score was tied after the 2nd. Hill was phenomenal to keep them tied. Was a great game to watch even if I didn't necessarily like the results as an Oilers fan. :) Assuming no drastic changes, I'm really not looking forward to facing Vegas in the 1st round.... it'll be great hockey, but it might as well be a Conference/Stanley Cup Finals match-up.
Had that been Lehner the Oilers would had won. but Hill is like our next Fluery. Hill is a great Goalie

Oilers fan here. Few times I noticed that the oilers seemed skidish on the play almost as if they were losing confidence with each play vegas shut down. Vegas did play a good solid game and the oilers didn't seem to adapt on the fly to the Knights playing a swarm the puck carrier mentality for a bit. Hands down Hill stole the some good chances and was the difference maker in the game. Streaks do end at some point and it would have been nice to tie or break the league record but to climb from the basement of the league to 10th and in a playoff position is good enough for me.

EXCELLENT POINT about the ties factoring into the streak in the past. I wonder if the streak is longer if the tie is just negated out of the equation? (I’m too lazy and don’t care enough to actually try and find the stats on that 🤣)

It was a good game, both teams were playing well. Both Skinner and Hill played great. Move it along to the next game. The record is secondary to the ultimate goal.
Honestly I’m kind of glad the streak finally came to an end because it was a lot of pressure on them, so now they have the power to do what they want now
defence kept fumbling on the blue line
1:05 I thought that goal was pretty next skill level even for draisaitl until I realized it was mcdavids goal with drai assist.
Got to love seeing my Golden Knights on Eck!
Hill has played lights out for Vegas especially in their home building. Vegas also has my OILERS number and that has got to change.
Disappointing, but it was going to come an end eventually. I just want them to continue to play well and get points for the playoff race.
I'm not really a fan of any certain team, but watching the Oiler's turn around this season impressed me and I ended up watching the first period of this game. The Oilers seemed very nervous at first, knowing about the winstreak, but they ended up playing quite well. I think they lost all their momentum with the all star break (which by the way I absolutely detest) and they simply came up against a stronger team who could lock down their own zone.

Hill just played very very good
On the bright side of the Oilers loss. What I saw tonight is team Canada having a goalie tandem for the olympics. With two more years of development, I think these two young goalies will be dangerous. Hill, Skinner, Jarry.
I’m more mad about that fact that beating the knights standing wise was important
Hill frustrated me the entire game😂😂😂
Finally the oilers might have a chance to win the cup. I think they would win a best of 7 in the playoffs against the knights. They are gonna do it this year
Could this be a preview of Team Canada's goalies for next year?

It’s hard not to look at the result last night and feel disappointed at how close they were. Gotta remember they are only the 3rd team to win 16 straight. Let’s go destroy Anaheim now.
I think there was a little rust from the break. There were just some mistakes that the Oilers made that they really haven’t been making in the last 16 games. Also, the Knights did have a really strong D

Crossbar and a post. Game could have easily gone the other way. Regardless, they still made history going on the run that they did and they have clawed back into the playoff race. They have very little to complain or feel bad about.
Nice
Vegas can shut down teams like no one else
If they can’t handle the pressure of game streak, they won’t hold up when the cup is on the line. It’s just not who they are. And Vegas was practically full of AHL players and no jack eichel. The crowd was full of Edmonton people. The tv announcers couldn’t say enough great things about Mcdavid. The problem is, the panic when they fell behind. It was obvious. There will be no cup in Edmonton this year
Honestly idrc the fact we climbed from 26 to 9th is good enough for me. I think being the best comeback team of all time is good enough 😂
hows does a 2 on 0 shorthanded occur
They learned and gained experience. The phrase, "next time," means a lot here.
Its not like he REALIZED after, he KNEW he couldve made history
At least this streak was earlier in the season than the Pens run. That cost them a three-peat. Even the players say that.
My heart goes out to the Oilers, I wanted this win so bad, stay positive and don’t go losing to Anaheim.
The goal is the cup and not the number of streak. The Knights have proven that.
Did not see the game but its a little sad because they lost a streak that could make history
If streaks are easier in the modern league, why don't we see more of this length? As an Oilers fan, ending the streak sucks. It stings but reminding myself that we hold the longest WC streak and streak by a Canadian team is comforting... That and the season has been completely turned around by this streak. We were bottom of the league and now have a solid playoff spot (for now).
that dumb allstar break ruined their momentum 100000%
I honestly forgot they could lose this game. I knew there was a good chance they could lose but it honestly didn’t process. I’m not an oilers fan but I was rooting for them

C. Perry curse
The greatest tragedy with this loss is that the Oilers were going to get to play the NHL embarassment Anaheim Ducks to break the record.
The Oilers DID make history, in a lot of different ways. Heads are held high in Oil Country today.
Well we got a cool record, now thats over with, its time to get focused on playoffs.
That’s what they get for adding Perry so late in a win streak.
Oh well, there go their playoff chances. They'll slide for the rest of the season now.
Oil assumed they would win instead of actually winning
Just hoping that the Oilers get big wins over Anaheim and La
I wouldn't call this a defensive clinic, they allowed over 30 shots on goal. It was more Hill bailing them out than anything. I think the Oilers also hit a couple posts that wont show up on shots either.
Tocchet got his wish :P
WTG Vegas!
