yes i'm trying to focus on big 4 becuase I like how convenient it is to just have the pattern available although Ive noticed the sizing can be off...they can be tricky so I like to try them out for everyone!
Lovely tops, the red knit is really cute and suits you.

You are so adorable. I love your idea about using hair ties for a loop around a button. When I read my pattern instructions on how to make a matching fabric loop to close a cuff by turning that thin strip of material inside out I want to pull my hair out!

Try Tilly and the buttons Billie pattern or Friday pattern co Adrienne blouse both for knits with the sleeves😍

I love the fabric of your knit top. Some rib knits bag out really bad and when your woven pattern has a lot of wearing ease already, a knit gets huge. I think the loose fit is fine, but I think you'd be a lot happier if you shortened those sleeves & made a tighter cuff. And I love the M8167 pattern & fabric!
@SimplyDelilah

thank you so much! i think that would be an easy fix to just cut off that cuff and do a smaller one! Thanks for the suggestion 😊

Hey-beautiful tops!! When a pattern is not designed for knits, you need to look at the finished garment sizing, and go from there. Generally speaking, I go down any where from 2-4 sizes, depending on the ease given on the pattern. A lot of knit patterns have "negative" ease...so therein lies the problem. I like it loose, but I know the sleeves would drive me crazy-so I probably would add the cuff for myself. Nice vid, and really nice makes!! :+)

Oh thank you! and yes I should have definitely sized down.
Re the knit top...sometimes it works best when onlyone part is over size - you could take in the shirt and leave the sleeves big , or just rework the cuff. I sometimes sew the details several times as the fabric will start to dictate where to go :)
@SimplyDelilah

yeah I think I will definitly redo the cuffs.

I went got bought a bunch of McCall's patterns over the weekend because you said they were on sale, and I happened to be going in to town! Perfect timing! Almost every pattern I bought was because of seeing how they look when you made them! Yes, I bought this top pattern, and I was thinking of making it in a knit as well! One of my favorite knit tops with big sleeves is S8982. I lower the neckline I little bit and on my next one I think I'll taper the cuffs. I've made it out of double brushed poly and they were my most worn tops last winter. Your tops look so beautiful!!

thank you for the suggestion on 8982..i have been eyeing that pattern and the pencil skirt looks fun too! i'm so glad the timing worked out for you. everyone is saying if I make this again I 'll need to size down for the knit which I should have known! Hope you have some wonderful makes from these!
Your tops are great and sewing in those sleeves would be a challenge for me, but yours did turn out pretty good. I admire the cotton print contrast for the interfacing. Great look ...I'll have to try that for my next make. Any tips how to sew in the interfacing?
@SimplyDelilah

it was actually very easy on the knit! but if you make it with knit you could always attach the knit neck band rather than facing
👍👍👍❤

thanks for watching 😊
D, when you use a knit to make a woven pattern, you usually go down a size with the knit fabric. Try it and see if it helps. I love the red top but it looks too big for you. Love your vlogs. Keep em coming.

yeah I don't know why I didn't think of sizing down! its still cozy though. thank you for watching 😊
As a newbie I struggled with those sleeve pleats so I put it waaaay to the side. It didn’t dawn on me to just gather them so maybe I’ll pick it back up. Your makes are very nice. Maybe make the cuff on view D a little tighter to give it more of a bell shape.
@SimplyDelilah

yes I think I will go in and fix the sleeve bands.
I really like the first top because of the fabric. I love the idea of using hair ties for the neck closure! Also, I made my first blouse recently and didn't like the way that the interfacing stiffened the neckline. Thanks for the tip about alternatives.🙂
@SimplyDelilah

yes I agree I felt like using the interfacing was too stiff so now I use a cotton woven interfacing when making rayons and other fabrics.

@@SimplyDelilah I'll be sure to try that this weekend.
These blouses turned out really nice, great job, using a knit for a “woven” pattern is Always ok! I’ve sewn for many, many years, and sewn privately for many women. Knits have a lot more ease, so you may want to go down a size! Your floral fabrics are beautiful! Maybe link where these fabric places are?! Thankyou, I just subscribed to your videos, recommended by “Made by Pam!

thank you! and yes I should have thought to size down! I guess there is always next time...I mean, I do have ALOT of fabric! Thank you for watching!
i have that mccalls but i haven't made it yet. your versions are both lovely. perhaps if you made the cuffs smaller on the red one they will stay on your wrist and the sleeve fabric will billow around it like it was intended instead of falling past your wrist. just a suggestion.
@SimplyDelilah

yes I'm going to go back and do that, i think it will be an easy fix. thank you!
Hello just wanted to say that I love the way that you present your videos. I am really loving the Pattern Emporium patterns at the moment, there are lots of lovely Jersey options to try and the instructions are great. Have you tried any of their patterns and do you ever use pdf patterns?
@SimplyDelilah

I have tried pdf patters, i just don't enjoy the extra time of cutting them out but I love the ellie and mac patterns too and the fit is great so I might just try more pdf. I will look into the emporium patterns. thank you.
Thanks for sharing. Would you be able to get the top on without the back slit?
