I like the label on the outside. Thank you for this tutorial.
That gingham fabric is SUCH a good pairing for this pattern! ❤️As for the gaping, I think Sewing Therapy leaves step #21 out of her video, but before attaching the neck bias binding (I think yours may have been cut on the straight grain or cross grain?) the instructions have you staystitch the entire neckline to prevent it from stretching out. I usually do it at the very beginning before I actually start sewing, though, because (like you) I love trying it on every step of the way and handling the pieces makes it more prone to warping. Either way, nothing a bit of hand sewing or a sew-in snap can't fix!
Loved this. I tried nearly a year ago to make this but gave up. You've inspired me to pick it back up! Thank you ❤️
There is something so relaxing watching you sew. Cute dress.
It's so refreshing to watch and enjoy your sewing adventures! I couldn't get either of my daughters interested in sewing in spite of the fact I dearly loved sewing for them when they were wee ones. Amazing new dress you created! Wondering where you got your Street Cats T shirt?
Big Smiles!! 2 Thumbs up! Becca, your dress looks so comfortable & adorable!
Ahhh love your sewing videos!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Love the the pink..and I have this pattern and love it! awesome work🇦🇺😃
I don't sew clothes, but this was really fun to watch!
Becca, it turned out so cute! My mom used to sew a lot. I'll have to ask her if she's ever made her own pieces 🥰
Your dress turned out so beautiful! I need to try this pattern!! Also I don’t know if this is the case here, just from my past experience, the annoying gaping might just be the simple fact that your fabric is so light and airy, and adding the bias tape weighs it down and it doesn’t hold the shape you want. But you already thought of the solution to that just adding some stitches to hold it. Such a great video ❤️
I’ve heard that notches are supposed to be cut outward, but I always forget to cut them all together 😂
The dress looks amazing :) I am the person that doesn't like to use serger as well, I prefer to zig-zag everything. The reason of the neckline gaping might be caused by the interfacing you used - from what you showed, the interfacing is stretchy which means it was knit interfacing that is suppose to use for stretchy fabrics. When I'm sewing usually with bias binding I don't interface at all :)

I wondered why I’m having issues with the neckline. I used a really lightweight interfacing but I’m deff gonna omit it in the next one
You make me want to sew so badly when I have not done so in years. My machine is 13 years old at this point tho and in need of a clean for sure.
This is so adorable! It’s definitely you!! Be prepared for people to tell you that your tag is showing, lol! I wish I could sew like you! Unfortunately, due to the RSD/CRPS in my feet, I can’t push the foot down on the sewing machine, so I sew by hand. I don’t think I’d have the patience to make a whole dress by hand though. Yours looks beautiful on you! Thank you for sharing! 🥰💜

There are machines that have buttons and knee levers you can use instead of the foot pedal.

@@cherenalee4957 I’ve asked but no one in my area knows of any. It’s okay. I don’t mind sewing by hand.
Becca I could be wrong - but when you were showing your bias binding - it looks like you cut it on the grain and not on the bias?

This may have contributed to the gaping - because the neckline is cut on the bias so maybe the bodice pieces stretched to fit the binding, rather than the other way around?

Regardless it's beautiful and the sleeve is so dreamy!
I didn't consider making this dress because of the plunging neckline but yours is the only video I 've seen that it seams possible to adjust the neckline. Now, is that in the directions or something you desided to do yourself?

I never even thought Of that, I guess it’s something I just naturally did. I was able to decide how tight I wanted the wrap top to be in the sewing process - I don’t remember seeing instructions or options for adjustment for the neckline plunge.
Omg I thought you cut your hair in the first 10 seconds but also you looked amazing.

Haha! Oh my gosh 😩😂 but thank you :))
Hi Becca! Do you think there's a way to make this dress pattern nursing friendly? Does it cross over too much allow access?

I have another version that I have used for nursing and it’s actually perfect! Definitely recommend.
I thought you chopped off your hair in the first shot 😳
