The problem is that the group that are homophobic are what make people assume all Christians are homophobic. I know where you’re coming from because I have open minded Christian friends too, but you also have to keep in mind that so many other Christians are hateful and spiteful towards people of the LGBTQ+ community. Because of this fact many people do not like to support Christians who do hold these ideals because they spread them more when they are in positions of power.
