Absolutely! M.C. Ren is a very talented lyricist. It would be interesting to hear him collaborate with East Coast producers like D.J. Premier, Digging In The Crates, J. Dilla, Erick Sermon, and Pete Rock. M.C. Ren sounds better over uptempo tracks and his style is similar to Treach of Naughty By Nature or Big Daddy Kane. M.C. Ren is at his best on NWA's "If It Ain't Ruff" or CPO's "Ballard Of A Meance."

I'm agreeing with that sentiment 110%. It's a shame that Dre. put out "The Chronic" at the same time Ren's record dropped.......Got overshadowed by the fuckin' enormity of it. According to me, from the very first moment this LP came out in the 90s and I got it (and I'm from soooo far away), it was only a proof of the opinion I've had previously, that he's the most hardcore member of the band! MC Ren is up there onthe most underrated rappers list. He held down the writing for 2 NWA albums, then released solid solo albums. He may not have the notoriety of the other NWA members, but he is a west coast and hip hop legend.

More a metalhead, but I very honestly admit, there is a handful of hip hop/rap that I like...and I like it a lot. I didn't know that he was so incredible on his own. I think his career got overshadowed by some other artists at the time, it is a shame. I have listened to a handful of his solo material the last few days, and in a weird way, I am glad I missed it all these years ( I am old enough to have become an adult in the 90's) because now I have a bunch of material that is 'new' to me to enjoy. Awesome stuff, seriously.
