Mbudzi Interchange.
Welcome to the Mbudzi Interchange, one of Harare's most iconic landmarks and a testament to Zimbabwe's engineering prowess! Located at the intersection of Chitungwiza Road and Simon Mazorodze Road, this bustling interchange is a hub of activity, connecting key routes and facilitating the flow of traffic in and out of the city.
The road allows traffic from Harare South and users of Beitbridge road to connect to Mozambique through to the Mutare road and airport through Chitungwisa road, and Zambia and Northern Zimbabwe through High Glen road without going in through Harare City Center. This reduces congestion in the city center as traffic seeking to travel intercity of inter-regional can do it without passing the congested city center.
In this video, we take a closer look at the Mbudzi Interchange, exploring its history, design, and impact on the city. From its construction to its current status as a vital transportation artery, we delve into the fascinating story behind this modern marvel.
Listen to the exciting story on how the project is a brown field project that allows pedestrians and community members to walk through the intersection to the Mbudzi market, to school and work without hinderance.
The project is a private public partnership between Fossil Contracting and Teforma in conjunction with the Ministry Roads, Transport and Infrastructure of Zimbabwe. The intersection will be the biggest intersection in Southern Africa and will take up 48 0000 cubes of concrete.
The main trust of the project is constructing the bridge pillars and tables on site while the bridges are made off site at Fossil Contracting’s Mount Hampden plant.
Fossil Contracting is an ISO accredited contractor that constructs world class infrastructure. Over the years it has contracted over one thousand kilometers of roads and bridges in Zimbabwe, making it one of Zimbabwe’s leading contractors.
As partners they have Kaya cement and Trek for their fuel. The project was earmarked to be completed by end of winter 2024.
So join us as we explore the Mbudzi Interchange and discover the secrets behind its success! Whether you're a local or just visiting, this video is sure to give you a new appreciation for the engineering and infrastructure that keeps Harare moving.

Amazing I think Zimbabweans are now tired of their own negativity. Because normal people think it's bloody weird to hate your country and tell the whole world about it. It makes no sense.

@@artsonchanachombe3756 I will never say anything negative to the world about Zimbabwe not in a million years. I love my homeland. And will fight anyone talking trash in front of me. An English man tried it in my local and did not expect my reaction it was hilarious 😂

Varidzi vanyika building their own country. Proud to be a Zimbo. Well done Zimbabwe🎉🎉🎉
You engineers have my admiration. What a fantastic job you are doing for our nation.Younger generations need to understand that they can succeed on their own without assistance from others.'''Nyika inovakwa nevene vayo'''
This is a good story indeed cde Rutendo, the way you do it is very educating seeing things from the foundation and explanations to the final complete#brick by brick Nyika ichivakwa nevene vayo.

Hmm i must admit when wrong. This is actually going much better than expected. I know Zimbabweans are smart, they are building other people's nations. I am glad finally the big brains are benefitting Zimbabwe. Hmm lets hope we keep the momentum going!!
I am now understanding the vision 2030 and the nyika inovakwa nevene vayo,,I salute second republic.
Beautiful, the majority of African countries are just calling the Chinese, Germans etc to do the work. brilliant enough Zimbabwe does it quick, perfect and entirely locally. proud of you guys, one day soon this country will go back to her former glory even much glory this time. I knew if Cde Rutendo goes there, we'll have a good coverage.

Thanks for the good effort
Great content and well articulated by the Engineer
Thanks Mr Matinyarare. This is a good work. This is the real example of intelligence, not the anti sanctions campaign which you will never win given the horrible treatment the Zimbabweans got from their own blood through so called leaders/Presidents. Keep it up!
Nyika inovakwa nevene vayo ❤
Preventative maintenance is the best to avoid time wastage due to breakdowns which is one of the major 6 big losses in operations management.... Splendid indeed

Wonderful job, Zim builders and engineers always excell in foreign countries, so how can we fail to build our own infrastructure? And let's have the similar structures in Byo and other cities

Kudos Eng!
I'm happy with this project that is happening in our motherland Zimbabwe
Very proud of my country.
thumbs to my fellow engineers
Good work Rutendo I know you are a very knowledgeable individual but you do not make the presentation about you. Your presentation is very clear You use very clear and simple language some people feel that this is their time to shine and start using big words but you always keep it simple so that a layman like myself has a clear understanding of what is happening. Keep up the good work keep telling the zimbabwe story. Yes we have a lot of challenges in the country but we have even more development also.
