In the process, we find out that Griffin HATES texting and instead communicates only via independence day themed greeting cards. Yes, all the text is composed of cut out letters from magazines. So what, a man can’t craft fun messages for his loved ones? It’s a hobby.
Tangents include a fun math challenge, Griffin’s patriotic greeting cards, and taking the founding fathers to the movies

Also, I love the gradual escalation, from like “Oh, let’s salute America, American heroes are good!” All the way to “If you criticize anything in the entirety of America, you deserve to be exiled to the bottom of the ocean”.

Self-sustaining so well we rely on Taiwan to supply all our processors, South America for our produce for 6 months out of the year, Brazil for an overwhelming amount of our beef supply, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Canada, and like 6 other countries for our oil, Europe and Asia for all our decent cars, and China for like 99.9% of our plastics and home commodities

I can’t tell if Griffin didn’t realize the dark implications of the Abe Lincoln joke, but if he spun that whole Lincoln-in-a-theater bit fully aware of what he was doing that is MASTERFUL comedy. Too bad he will only be remembered for sucking at simple math. 🥲
