I love starting a new GR video and hearing Cap's signature "Hello valued viewers, I hope you're doing wonderfully well" intro. It affects me similar to how Mr. Rodgers used to greet you as a kid and welcome you. Cap - we need you to do a 50-state tour of the US just so we can all shake the hand of a great man. That is all. :)

Lines fit for a tombstone! But no, our Captain is quite the sentimental fellow. Plop him in late Spitfire with infinite fuel + ammo and he would never leave the skies, save for family time.

I've been sick this past week and haven't played DCS or watched any GR videos and it's very nice to be called a valued viewer again. I think I feel better now too. You guys are the best!

Delightful, excellent concept and execution. One of the best GR fights I’ve seen.

Those Hispanos on the spitfire are lethal. Never underestimate British engineering.

Two fights in and we have so far discovered that the MB-339 is invincible in a collision and can continue level flight with only one wing 🤔 How long did the devs spend working on it?

In Korea, Sabres with radar ranging gun sights could score hits at 2 miles with a 12.7x99.

After all that, the damage model on many of these planes sucks the fun out of things as they are completely unrealistic and unfair, typical of too much patriotism, I think.

Interesting thought. I know that at least one of the WW2 fighters would take of with patches over their gunports (uncertain why, drag reduction? Weather- proofing?), Thin cloth to shoot thru when engaged. Cap regularly tests his guns as a flight check. Is model fidelity high enough that this is accounted for, or is that one of the things bundled into that "% accurate" thing?

For about three decades we had Aeromacchi 326's as trainers down here in Aus, in the RAAF. Cool aircaft, not unlike what you are flying in this.

If you could download a map of Tonopah flight testing range. You could have you're own little Red Flag. Plus, I think of these air to air fights and I would love to see some planes go down at Groom Lake. Tonopah flight test takes up the North Eastern part of Area 51. But the testing range doesn't go as far as Groom Lake.

D-9 has 2x 20 mms an 2x 13 mm's, 2x closely wing mounted 20 mm cannons, they fire thru the prop there that close.

The contest is actually a draw. Since the damage mod of the MB-339 wasn't working properly; the first combat should be tossed or declared a draw. Though I may be a little biased because I am a fan of the Mustang and warbirds in general.

Why do you say the P51 has a Merlin derivative? The Packard-made Merlin is a Merlin, no? Pretty sure they even used them in spits.

Cap, you take a lot of very high aspect shots. If you were a little more patient and managed your closure a little better I think you could afford to be more accurate and take more rear aspect shots. Great video! Love these match ups!

Cap, you just talk too much. You're so busy talking, you lose track of what you're doing! The first rule for a pilot is always... "Fly the plane!" Then talk about it after the match!
