they are strange cars. we got many many of them here in Poland. Price is funny low but they got some issues. Its high risk car to buy and you need some money to drive it daily :d

Jase is a master of attention to detail with his car builds . Lives and breathes rotors... super cool guy . You done a good job on the video mate 👌

For a 30 year veteran I'm shocked I've never seen or heard about this bloke, what a legend. When he said his old man gave him the beloved family Holden and jase is like yeah Nah thanks but no thanks LMAO you should of asked him what his old man's response was to that epic snub!

I feel a strong connection to this bloke. Im in my late 40's, and remember buying the Trading Post and looking in the $0 - $5000 for sale section ....... soo many Rotaries in the classifieds back then 🥺

Me too. Mid 40’s, Mazda Rotary passion for 30 years. Owned many rotors and now collect. Back in the day....Countless 5am trips to the newsagent to get the trading post on Thursday morning to see what rotors for sale and many trips to Sydney or Melbourne to buy my rotors. Wonderful memories. The passion is stronger as I’ve gotten older. 🥺

@@admiral7922 if only i had kept a couple of my old rota's. Now i only get to drive my wifes RX8 occasionally ....... 🙄. I think ive left my run too late, everything is soo bloody expensive. Bring back the Trading Post days 👍

@@RypienGT we regret selling all of them. Thankfully we learnt our lesson some years ago and moved to collecting. Glad you’ve got an Rx8 to enjoy. Good cars.

What fuel injectors did you use for your primary?

Fc housing is wired, that will have coolant grooves problem, better use gsl se housing... Is there any dyno info about hybrid engine ?

I genuinely mean it when I say this that I had a plan to do something like this for my future rx8 but I didn't know someone already done it before I thought about it. Nevertheless I would still love to do such build and at least follow his footsteps. Lovely build but I do want to know how much I should invest.

At the moment I am saving up for the project in mind and I am trying to figure out the approximate cost for everything I plan on building. I dont really expect you to spill the secrets but I would be interested in learning about how to build the motor and what I should be considering when the motor is finished. Also idk how to pm on yt

So this has perephial intake ports and exhaust ports ?

the info on the build doesn't seem complete. Were the FC housings machined to get them te fit the Renesis endplates? Otherwise they would not have fit

Has anyone ever finished a mini truck?

So, if he used fc housings and center iron but used the rew end plates what did he do for coolant seals does anyone know? I assume the center iron has the grooves for the seals in it still and he put them in there like normal but the rew end plates don't have them. So I assume he had one side of each rotor housing cut for coolant seals then?

I believe it was fc housings, fd rotors, and renesis irons.

he said he is using Rx8 front and Back 6 port irons(no O-ring grooves) with FC Rotor housings and centerplate. he must mean 13B FB parts the others are not usable

You heard correctly mate as iv had water seal grooves machined into the outer of each housing

It’s still in fine tuning as we found the exhaust being restrictive & not making power over 7000rpm but iv got everything to make up my new exhaust then back to the dyno but was jus shy of 200hp @7000rpm with factory ecu tuned by Roland wankel garage with a mazdaedit

They are basically the same

You had me going, hybrid rotary, very excited, I read Mazda was working on one for the MX-30. But no this is not a hybrid, no electric motor, no batteries and no regenerative breaking. These days the word Hybrid in cars means combustion/electric (or marijuana). So, what is the Hybrid part of this 13b pp? Not having a go, I’d just like to know. 👌

Hybrid refers to using bits from both a Renesis (stock rx-8 rotary) and an earlier REW (as found in rx7’s). So it’s a hybrid of Renesis 13b and a 13b-REW.

@@noidea6311 i still don’t think that they should be using the word Hybrid. If i put different heads on my V8 i don’t call it a hybrid, of you get what i mean. 👍
