If u have that actual screen like the one that comes in Itouring all u need to do is buy sd card on Amazon $40 pop it in and now u have navigation’ If u have the base base model that does not have the screen but just buttons u would first need to swap to a screen then do same things but if u currently have an sd card slot in arm rear rear or below a/c controls just buy as card and bass boom navie works

SD card is dirty and needs cleaning
Why would any owner need to do that? I think the time would have been better spent cleaning the interior!

There was a recall google it even if car is out of warranty mazda will replace it free

@@laad it's all lock on the. Newer versions. There isn't a way to unlock them without downgrading your firmware version. If it cam from factory with new firmware, it's no doable.
Hi Gerard, thank you for posting this. My infotainment screen was ghost touching on engine start up for a few minutes. I brought it to the dealer, and they said it needed an update. Now, they say my 2017 Mazda Cx-5 is too old to be updated and they have left me with a screen that says "Install Not Successful: System Failure. Make sure that the USB with update package is inserted. The system will then automatically retry the update". The dealership claims that I need to replace the entire console and my warranty ran out 2 years ago, and it will cost over A$2000. Are they lying to me? Is there something I can do to reset it to an older update? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How have u gone with this dilemma seems a tad rich that Mazda could expect this from their customers. Hope u found some remedy. I just bought new car and not able to load usb thumb drive with music as it’s stating unreadable files. Fuck modern technologies when it gets too complicated I say.

@@daintreetosea unfortunately, Mazda refuses to replace it, unless I shell out $2k. I have tried to find an aftermarket monitor, but no luck for 2017 model. So, have no music, backup camera, etc.
Doesn't work on the MX-30.
