While many may have been hoping for a new rotary-engined sports car, Mazda’s most powerful model yet comes in the form of a plug-in hybrid SUV to rival the BMW X3. Also available with petrol and diesel engines, the Mazda CX-60 boasts a luxurious interior and a lower price tag than German rivals - plus a little bit of MX-5 in the driving experience. But is this enough to make it competitive? Rich finds out

I actually think limiting the access to the touch screen is brilliant, it limits carelessness of those who don't have interest in driving safely. If you want to change something, pullover and do your business. I love it!

I was little hesitant buying mazda 6 because of not having touch capability while driving, however after few days I got used to it. Now I don’t touch screen at all, even when in parking. Dial is just easy. I think they are in the right direction. no more sticky screen with finger prints everywhere.

From a safety point of view the limited accessibility of the touchscreen is a good thing. You don’t have to look at your fingers when using the rotary dial at all so you maintain much more focus on actually driving.

Great looking car and superb build quality … it’s a Mazda…… give it 6 months and it’ll be excellent once few bits ironed out. It’s often overlooked but the dealer experience is important too. I’ve never come across a poor Japanese dealer … unlike others …. Well done Mazda.👏👏👏👍

I can’t believe there’s another journalist is moaning about the infotainment screen. I thought these people were anti-touchscreen? Perhaps someone should remind him that Mazda decided to remove many of the touchscreen functionalities for safety reasons. At the end of the day why do you think using your mobile phone whilst driving is banned in the UK?

Automatic driver position set by Mazda seemed much more natural to me. The one, chosen by reviewer looks like he has just finished his driving cources and afraids to be "too far from road" - that's the only explanation why one can sit so close to the steering wheel, which is so uncomfortable.

Totally disagree with the infotainment touch screen statement. I've owned a Mazda for 4 years and if you want a shortcut to the nav, you just hit the nav button. In Apple Carplay/Android Auto mode it displays the navigation app most recently used. Same goes for music etc. Touchscreens are distracting, unsafe, and leave annoying fingerprints.

Great looking car and amazing quality interior, with one of the best infotainment system’s to use, touch screen is not a great thing in all these new cars, the lay out and physical wheel and buttons is a perfect option from Mazda. I think they should also be praised for only allowing touch screen for the non Mazda apps below a certain speed that's a great idea. Much more saftey cautious, other brands should listen up.

The fuel tank capacity is 40 litres and can drive upto a maximum 390 kilomètres.(plus 50-60 kms from EV mode) None of the reviews state this explicitly. Dear mazda, luxury is not just look and feel. You need to give atleast 50L. This beast is not a city car, i want to drive long distances with it. So i need to keep stopping every 200-300kms to refuel. Disappointed with this.
