Antibacterial soap, hand sanitizer, and disinfectant wipes are all increasingly popular products that are part of a growing effort to sterilize our environment to avoid getting sick. Dr. Gregory Poland, an infectious diseases expert at Mayo Clinic, says not only is that goal unattainable, it may actually be making people less healthy.
