It makes since that Jeopardy would choose her as a host. A host with a legitimate doctorate.

Mayim is awesome, and a great actress! A true scientist as well!

I began as a fan of Mayim Bialik when I got hooked on THE BIG BANG. Her genuine personality made me respect her acting ability because she did not let an ego or lack of confidence get in the way with her portraying the character as the role was written. She went along with the wardrobe and lack of glamour and made it real. I get annoyed and angry by the negative remarks connected with being a host of Jeopardy. She has all the qualifications to do the job. Diction, enunciation, voice range, alert, knowledgeable, people-person, warmth, compassion are some of the necessary traits a host in a show like this would find essential. People, lay off! She is refreshing. I will add here as I close........Ken has some "stuff" that causes him to be too much into himself.

I've always watch her at Big Bang Theory coz I like the personality she portrays, but I feel in love with her more when she landed as guest host at Jeopardy. When Mayim started her podcast, it seemed more science-based. Now it's just one interview after another with some boring middle aged celebrity no one cares about who's selling a book/product/secret to life. Kind of the Dr Oz of KZread. "Buy my shoes! Take these vitamins! Live this life! Read this book!" Blah blah blah. Mayim's life is of her own making. If it's too stressful for her or she feels she's neglecting her children, she should do what other moms do, scale back.
