Simply loved Merle. RIP. Merle released this one in Sept 1981. His 25th #1. The Hag has quite a catalog.

You definitely can’t go wrong listening to anything Merle Haggard does.

Merle Haggard is one of the keystone artists of country. Incredible song-writer, amazing voice. He is the real deal. A huge catalog of songs that defined country music

When Johnny Cash performed at San Quentin Prison in 1959, Merle Haggard was doing his prison time and set a goal to do what Johnny was doing, once he got out. It was considered to be the turning point in Haggard's life. RIP My favorite MH song is "Are The Good Times Really Over" and the lyric "Are we rolling downhill like a snowball headed for hell". RR, so glad you're back, and I hope you don't get long COVID.

Singer Sierra Ferrell is bringing back old time country altho she mixes a hint of bluegrass, jazz and latin genres in her music as well. Check out Bells of Every Chapel, Jeremiah, The Sea, Made Like That or West Virginia Waltz. I love the live Audiotree Staged songs or the Delfest2023 x No Depression recordings. Talented group around her too.

All three of these songs are ridiculously good, but those second two don’t get nearly enough props. The radio versions are great, but the live versions with him going ham on the Tele are classic.
