You are so kind thank you ☺️
Hi Emily, I have to check out. Every thing is OK. I think what you’re doing for disability rep books and people who are warriors is a wonderful thing. We are warriors! Thank you for mentioning mental health May. I totally support your Spoonie readathon. As you know, I suffer from many invisible, and visible disabilities and I know the struggles. Be kind to yourself. Self-care is so vital. I’m actually on vacation right now in Canada and I’m thinking of a massage tomorrow after running out of spoons after walking too much. Aloha friend⭐️

Great to see that the vast majority of the books were rewarding reads for you. I was really pleased to hear your reaction to Hardy's 'A Pair of Blue Eyes'. I'm a great fan of Hardy and have now read just about all his novels; 'Jude The Obscure' is penciled in for 2024but there's now a good chance that 'A Pair of Blue Eyes' will get the nod for 2025. Found some start emojis as recognition for staying to the end of the video - best wishes, Brian 🔭🌠🌌

I feel like not gelling with Six of Crows is fair; I think the crows are a bit like marmite. I'm so hyped for the next Percy Jackson book!✨

I'm glad you enjoyed Sitting Pretty. It is very US-centric so I can see why you might not relate as much. I didn't realize there was a list of book suggestions at the back. I'm going to pull out my copy and add to my TBR. Ooh I'm very interested to check out The Secrets of Haven Point.

Definitely think you would love The secrets of haven point. Need to look for more uk books on disability
I love six of crows! I still need to read the next one. But I understand finding quite a lot of characters to follow a bit easy to get lost in. I'm glad you liked sitting pretty and were able to get a lot out of it, and in the end got some recommendations from the back of the book as well. I do really want to read sitting pretty and it's one of the ones on my need to read list. I love the nonfic I've read by Natalie Haynes and can't wait to read some of her fiction in future. I really liked the lost hero so I need to continue on that series and read book 2 soon.

I definitely think sitting pretty is a really good non fiction. The hero’s series is sooo good. My focus isn’t great so think that affected my reading of six
4:01 - oooooh Hot take, this will be fun. Not read it, read the Grisha trilogy which was fine YA, slightly annoying on angst level. Not felt tempted to pick Six up but so many people RAVE about it! 👀🍿🍿🍿🍿

I just think some ya isn’t for me
1:55 - not about intelligence, it's about what from the book. If you want plot and character and not literary exoression/experiments/ themese etc. It's just nkt for you. Your skills lie much more in empathy and shouting about strength of characters. No beating yourself down, remember Lisette Autin says language is important, that goes for words you say about yourself too 😉 he he he - no self deprepcating on my watch 😉💜📚 (Yes i had to check deprecating was the right word as it is very close to defecating, which was definitely NOT the right word 😂😂😂😳)

You’ve read so much already! Sounds like some great reads. I am currently reading Sitting Pretty and enjoying it. I’ve read a number of books by UK disabled writers. I’ll have to look back to see if any of them get into the disability rights in the UK. Will let you know if I find any. I loved All the Little Bird Hearts! The chapter about how her mother treated her gutted me. Hope the rest of the month is filled with great reading for you!
