I read Memories of Ice during lockdown while struggling with an injury, and it was extremely cathartic. It is worth taking your time with that one, and I hope you love it!

I love it when a book can have that effect. I will definitely take my time with it. I do not find Malazan books hard to follow but I am an incredibly slow reader so I think helps.

I’m 40% through Memories of Ice and it’s my favourite so far. I’m enjoying taking my time and digesting every scene.

I really should get to the Sharpe Novels, as I loved the TV Show, but I feel I have to read the Hornblower books first, as I love that TV adaptation even more! 😄 Petrik & Jake Bishop group-pressured me (though in the nicest way, after all Petrik is Southeast Asian and Jake Canadian! 😄) into start reading «Howling Dark» right away after finishing «Empire of Silence», and I have purchased some of the «Sun Eater» novellas on Kindle + the Cyberpunk elements of «Howling Dark» got me wanting to pick up «Idoru» by William Gibson right after, so I have pushed «The Green Pearl» (Lyonesse Trilogy #2) from this month till May. Further on my May TBR List, I have: «The Wise Man’s Fear» by Patrick Rothfuss (Fantasy, sequel to «The Name of the Wind») «Madouc» (Lyonesse Trilogy #3) by Jack Vance ((Pre-)Arthurian Fantasy) «The Dragonbone Chair» (Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn, #1) by Tad Williams (Epic Fantasy, a key influence for George R. I too love the Sharpe show but have watched very little of Hornblower which I will fix on your recommendation. I have been trying to find the Suneater books in hardback but alas I am not rich enough as they have become quite rare. I have also been bidding for the Gollancz one volume edition of Lyonesse but have had little luck. Good luck getting to all those reads mate 👍
