May Garden Tour - Zone 5 Nova Scotia!

Hello All,
Well fingers crossed we’ve seen our last frost! Still a little early to risk the peppers and tomatoes, but we are having a beautiful spring! It got me thinking… we should do a garden tour and see all the flowers and food growing! Things are really starting to get going!

It has been so cold here I don't even have my beds cleaned up yet. Lazy or cold? hahahaha Next day off I swear. lol My garlic is only about 4 inches. The sun actually is out today so hopefully things will wake up and flourish. Thanks for the update Carla!

We’ve been having some amazing weather, stuff has really jumped ahead over the past few days!! Here’s hoping the sun and warmth finds you this week!! (Also… never lazy… just exercising restraint! 😂)

Hi Carla, when do you start tomatoes and peppers in the ground there in zone 5?

I started seeds indoors under lights mid March or so for peppers and early April for the tomatoes. I’m tempted to put the tomatoes out now, we are right around our last frost date, but there is a low of 3 overnight one night this week so… I will wait! Impatiently!! Likely next week I will start getting them out, but I will keep a close watch on the long range forecast, it’s not unheard of to get a June frost.
