For me personally, Carol is still Todd Haynes' best work. I'm curious to see how this will be ranked in his career work. Netflix bought it so that's grateful enough to make the movie easier to access

I heard Charles Melton is incredible in this one.

The movie is based on Mary Kay Letourneau, and Vili Fualaau. For the younger viewers she was a 34 year old sixth grade teacher that slept with her 12 year old student and gave birth both times she was incarcerated (the second time was a parole violation).They got married in 2005, divorced in 2019, and she died in 2020 (Fualaau and his family were by her side).

I would love to see David Corenswet in a joaquin phoenix movie he very underrated actor, and he is really good in Hollywood

Absolutely. Everything I've seen from this movie is how humorous and campy it is. It makes me wonder how all the women who are responding in such a blasé manner would feel if their 13 yo son was molested by a 40 yo woman.

HATE THIS MOVIE. I felt the same after watching the Phantom Menace w Jar Jar Binks where I wrote a 10 page treatise on why it sucked and Lucas should be shot. The acting was awful. The music jarring and ridiculous. The direction was Mexican TV. Goose egg for everyone involved in this tripe
