When I was in Switzerland in 1983 it was such a quiet lovely peaceful country. Andropov ruled the USSR, what a different world...I bet the Swiss police didn't own any such equipment and never imagined that they would ever need to. 1980 was the most violent year in zürich. May day riots aren't really a thing anymore.

das erste ganz normaler streifenwagen mit 3 Polizisten drinn. Die beiden andren sind ohne schnickschnack was die streifenwagen haben dafür platz bis zu 8 Polizisten

My country doesn't have a lot of unrest or civil disobedience so there is a bit of a joke about how the law enforcement has got to find opportunities for their special operations teams to get training, such as by (appearing to?) overreact(ing) to incidents e.g. deploying commandos in riot vans to manhunt a molester, or riot police to control crowds at a train station when service was disrupted, or sending in a SWAT team when Huawei had a promotion & people were incensed that the discounted handsets ran out sooner than expected
