I just assembled mine, and I anchor mine to my SUV. I got it to work on my zero turn mower, 55 miles from home. If I hit something, & need to repair a part, I can lift the mower safely, investigate, and carry on. It’s a heavy tool, but I dissembled it into 3 parts, that fit in the back of the SUV 🚙. I’m a 74 year old man, and I can manage each part.

Maxxtow doesnt but I have seen a Harbor freight one that does. Although you need to do some major fabrication to your truck bed to support the weight. The good thing about the Maxxtow is that it takes most of the weight.

Thank you for sharing, your ingenuity of the receiver hitch. A lottle more custom fabrication always desired. The location possibilities are endless. I suspect lift height can be imrproved. The failure points on my harbor freight crane was the hand crank winch and at the posts on the taller, gray model. My solution was to sleeve the tall post with an outer pipe of stronger gauge metal. It was my fault, i release the bottle jack way too quick. The weakest part of this lift system is the hand-crank- user beware, I am now Installing a power winch. Should help both failures. $160, taller gray model mounted to 2 of the bed frame rails by the drivers side cab. 13 gmc 2500Then added $120 in an 18" pipe extension and aluminum plate that has a hole cut out to support the post higher up..

Did you guys have the Hydraulic Needle Valve screwed in and seated well on the jack? It looked like it was jacked excessively for no more Lift than you were getting per stroke. It also could be low on hydraulic oil. I think It should have picked that small light load with fewer strokes.

When this is at its maximum weight, far will it go down...low enough to get a 1000 lb item (probably big) from the bed to the ground with adequate lift height? I can't find any specifications for maximum/minimum height of hook at max weight

Totally agree. They had it extended all the way out and yet the generator was hitting the side of the truck when loaded. No way you could load it if the pin (arm) was set on 1000 lbs.

The arm is way too short. Using the 500 lb position barely got that gen set into the truck. Using the 1000 lb position would have you busting out your tail light.

AlaskaErik the rail that supports the crane can be moved in & out, closer to the center of your truck. Tailgate is the weak link.

This is great. It would be great if it had heavy duty pneumatic tires and a adjustable sliding bottom rail. But this is great... Try loading up a fully loaded knack or jobox with on of these, that generator seemed really close to the edge of the tailgate, reason why I was suggesting a slidit bottom rail and pneumatic wheels with lock.
