Maxxhaul Truck Crane assembly and review.

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

This is a how to assemble and review of the MaxxHaul 70238 Receiver Hitch Mounted Crane - 1000 lbs. Capacity.
You Will need 24mm and 18mm sockets.
1 Adjustable wrench.
After assembly I have to say that this makes getting my generator in for service really easy without the need to have two people. I do wish they were able to extend the arm just a little bit and get some additional height. But other than that it is a great addition to my tool set!
Warning: Must ensure trailer pin is inserted and that the bolts holding the crane in place are secured to ensure the crane does not come loose during use. Please follow all instructions.
If you have lost the instruction manual you can find it here:

Mine arrived today, followed the instructions, no problems, except which bolt goes where. I didn’t have any problem figuring things, length & hole diameter restricts which bolt goes where. I use it on my SUV hitch, to lift my zero turn mower, among other thing, pulling posts if needed. Looks like you did a great job, wish you were helping me, or vice versa! I believe we will enjoy this new tool! I was surprised at the $200.00 price, but took advantage of it anyway!👍🏻 This whole crane fits under my SUV, when not using it. Reassembly is quick & easy! It picked up my mower, till the frame in back, was on the ground. Plenty of room to work under the mower, using the 500 lbs hole. Very pleased with the functionality of this tool, & storage!

Thanks man. Haven’t changed the design since 2012 being the first video I’ve seen. Same deficits for all these years, no excuse. Made in China most likely. Your video is much appreciated.

Yes this is very helpful, of all the instructions, the labeling of parts, nothing about which bolts go where, so glad he addressed that., and I had to figure them out too. Don't have a MaxHaul, I have a Propoint, but it is the exact same.

Your video cut out when attaching the main horizontal stabilizing bar to the hitch receiving T bar, and I didn't get to see if the 2 bolts let you adjust how far the horizontal stabilizer bar went in (closer to the tail gate). I would like to see the hoist be able to safely reach the truck bed center for the bulky items rather than so close to the truck bedside wall.

I have one that is supposed to arrive today. 2/19/20. I never read instructions so this video is great. Ha---Thank you. (Looks like the 1000# position would put a load on top of the side of your truck bed.)

You can simply slide the crane further through the hitch, putting the crane pivot point close to the center of the truck.

Great job on your video, thanks. Getting to Maxxhaul, Your addressed deficits and your disappointment with the outreach bar being too short along with the crane simply too short for adequate clearance while lifting taller object’s, has been a problem since this tool was first offered to the public back in 2012. This is obviously a made in china item and quality control non existent. It’s quite unfortunate that other makes have not capitalised on the inadequacies and manufactured much improved cranes of this design type. I cannot seem to find hitch mounted crane’s that do not copy cat these same mistake’s. It’s beginning to look like and in order to have a properly functioning truck crane lift one must go custom. I guess the old adage one gets what one pays for holds true here. My overall opinion is this little unit is better than nothing for the price and your video was excellent and well presented. I hope this device works out for you and meets some of your needs.

Good demonstration. Thank you. Could you not have removed the stopper pin once the load was above your truck bed and carefully swung the load further to the center of your truck. I see that the pin was stopping the rotation of the arm.

I did a lot of tests before taking the actual video and I was unable to get it further into the truck bed without hitting the bed itself. I can see what your saying about the pin being a problem and yes once its up in the air you can pull that pin and you could swing it all the way around if needed. At 5:23 I show the area of the pin stops. I actually have to bring the generator in for service today as I left gas in it too long so I will try exactly what you said and let you know.

@@dissectingdiy thanks for sharing! Once it is assembled, how long does it take to remove it from your truck and set it up again? I plan to pick and deliver automobile engines but curious if setting up the lift for every delivery or pickup is too time consuming where it becomes a major time factor. Or, is it as simple as removing the swing arm followed by removing the bottom support system from your hitch and done?

Tito Valentin it’s pretty quick. Less than 5 minutes. I pull the yellow arm assembly out after strapping arm down with velcro strap provided. Pull the pins for the legs and then the lower assembly comes out after loosening the bolts. I knew I should have taken a video doing that but it started raining.

I have one. Needed a part for it . They jerk me around for a week before giving me prices. I agree to pay the price of part + shipping. Gave them phone number to call for payment, that has been 2 weeks ago. There Customer Service sucks. Go to there home page will not let you leave a comment.
