im curious what layout you went for since you went for the sprinter... its little larger... but more money... im going with the transit.. i just got into van life my self.. and the transit basically same size just like 10 feet smaller.. easier to fix, its not dieasel ..so you will have much easier time trying to find a place to fix it and less costly.... and it comes in front wheel drive unlike the sprinter were its real wheel.. but like i said im curious on what layout you chose. theirs only like 3.. and i dont like any of them.. thats why with my layout im trying to fit both in.. and i think i got it actually work.. if i design it right. and it fits.. i basically have two sleeping areas... anyways love your channel .. you guys rock.. cant wait to see your finished van.. 100%% :) :)

We have the Sprinter 2500 170 extended. Glad you are so happy with the Transit. We are in the process of changing our layout for a variety of reason which we will be sharing soon.
Cutting into a van the first time is daunting. You made it look easy. I’m wondering about the test. The grinding noise was mostly the vent opening? How loud is the fan it as it runs?

Are you talking about testing the fan operation? I tested the fan before the install and then once it was in place, I hooked it up to a portable battery to make sure it still worked. The opening/closing noise is really loud but the fan running is not bad at all.
Nice work! Look forward to seeing how you take on each step. As a contractor do you have it all layed out, or some plan as you go?

Since my background is in retail and residential construction, this van build is different than anything I’ve done. There’s an overall plan with plenty of changes along the way.
