Damn, why Maxwell isn't a ultra, mega, superstar is beyond me! Dude kinda reminds me of Sade in that they pop up randomly every few years, drop a megabomb of a album, then completely disappear. I literally know nothing about Maxwell other than the music he's made. Outstanding talent whom I can only wish has more in store for us at some point. 👍

Jack, there's no need to worry, Maxwell's discography is massive. Running out of great songs is not an issue. I'm just glad you appreciate the talent he brings to the table. His music tells a story, and he evokes the kind of emotion that treats the ears as well as the soul. Thanks for getting on board with his music. Looking forward to more reactions.

I think this was his comeback song. He hadn’t released a song/album for 7-8 years. I still remember this debuting on 106 & Park. I instantly fell in love with it. Such a beautiful song.

Maxwell “Bad Habit”

Maxwell definitely has a good amount of discography but he’s one of those artists who will disappear for years then pop up with a new record out of the blue. And we appreciate it each time.

I wish ppl would appreciate maxwell a lot more. His voice is far beyond unique

Maxwell came out of the gate strong with this one. He hadn't been around in 7 years and was virtually missing from music. He dropped this and it was a breath of fresh air in the world of R&B/soul. Still wish he'd bless us more often!

That's what I wanted to share as well! He is taking accountability of how he treated her and doing the right thing by letting her go, for her sake. She deserved better. He just wasn't ready to have his afflictions and flaws placed under a microscope, which typically happens in transformative relationships like this one. That's my take after analyzing the song and the lyrics. It wasn't all her or even 50/50, 80/50... It was him.

This is the only Maxwell single that I didn’t like but I literally love all his other music especially the song you mentioned. We are very fortunate he recorded FORTUNATE LOL.

I always interpreted as he messed up and knew they weren’t good together. Even though they broke up the more time they’re apart the more he misses her. It’s the musical version of the phrase “if you love something, let it go. If they love you they’ll find their way back”.
