my Z started breaking up at about 4500 rpm with stock rails and plumbing; another great video brother appreciate ya. I'm still learning, all I know comes from helping my dad on an old Ford, in the driveway growing up 😊

Enjoyed the vid! It does look like the turbo is running out of exhaust flow. It really depends on how much you want to spend - something that is dual bb could get you similar spool and much larger top end ceiling. I bought a Rev9 TX-72-68 Billet .81AR T4 a few years back and its sitting in my closet

That’s a good turbo for the Z. That’s the exact turbo we have tested in ravens 350z, his manifold was changed to a t4 so we could use it. And I’m probably going to stick with a T3, but use a big 1.06 back housing. I’m just really curious to see how far an eBay turbo kit would go on the original setup other than turbo….

@@GearheadsAutofab from what I recall the result is usually just slower spool but not much top end increase, that is if you have maxed out the exhaust wheel.

If you cut the coils off the 5psi spring, you should reduce the effective spring ratez

Wonder if cams would help it from breaking up at the top end

with the setup that u got now do u think it would make a difference if you ran e85
@GearheadsAutofab
Жыл бұрын
Yes it would make more tq and earlier, but then be more restricted up top because of the extra volume of the e85. So it’s like good then bad …..but I may go to e85 after I re do the kit if I fix the restriction the e85 would help

Not enough room to get all the exhaust out of the motor, so it’s usually the turbo size or housing size

What's good man I was wondering if you can recommend a turbo kit for a fully built vq35de in a sedan g35 I live in central Texas and I would like to get it tune at your shop as well

Oh it's a 6 speed revup engine I'm going with tomei pro cams, is it possible to break in the engine before I go turbo? I'm sure I'm going to need a base map

@@lmen5710if you have a built engine then you should go with a quality kit. Boosted Performance Single Turbo, or a SOHO Kit are one of the best options imo. SOHO made a V2 kit but sadly it’s not in stock at the moment, the turbo sits on the passenger side (only kit I know with this location) this seems like one of the best kits bc of the shorter cold side piping, which would result in faster spool time due to the shortness of the cold side. They made a video on it.

Also turbokits.com has a kit that looks pretty good for 6k with precision turbo and 2.5 up pipe on the turbo side….they say 600hp capable, but didn’t show a dyno past 400…..I’m in the process of building new turbo parts to hopefully make it past 500 whp,

i think with a bigger up pipe with t4 you'll be good

Good thinking….I want to install a exhaust manifold back pressure sensor and do some testing. But also I got a bigger turbo to test as well ….hoping to not have to rebuild the manifold , because if I do I’ll end up building a new kit lol 😂

Toss a turbo from a 7.3 powerstroke diesel on it.

Is that the rev9 kit or turbonetics?
@GearheadsAutofab
Жыл бұрын
Rev9 with the rev9 turbo not the turbonetics , the turbonetics also says it maxed out at 450hp. I am only 25 hp away from 450 I could add timing and hit 450 but it’s just hard on the motor …..
