you are giving the same reasons that most of those who are not real horse racing fans....the folks who only watch a few races....taking down a horse is not that rare...it took a long time because its the kentucky derby....

Only serious horse racing fans see a problem, everyone else just sees good defense that you'd do in NASCAR. A horse jumped a puddle....a horse will jump at a bullfrog croak, calm down people

Have they explained to the horse that he shouldn't have done that?

Pedro Martinez ....they sent him a message thru his trainer and I think he got it. They told him he could not run under the influence of illegal drugs.

How about Steph Curry missing a wide open layup with the Rockets up 5 and the spread at 3.5? Don't bet on sports boys and girls. You will always, ALWAYs, lose in the long run.

I had the 7 and 5 horses mixed in with a couple tickets. Loved both horses. Unfortunately it looked like the 7 didn't have the juice to finish in front to me so he went from about the two lane out to about the 6th or 7th lane and back to stop the surge. Screwed up the race, sad day!!

Lucas Lucas ....Lucas, you are correct.....he was not given enough juice by his trainer, so he got tired at the end. In his next few races, yes he was given plenty of juice.

the 1 horse ran into his backside made contact, and the 7 horses reaction was to veer to the right to avoid the contact, foul should have been on the 1 for reckless riding, watch it for real this time

Don Campbell .....Don, watch the replay again. The 1 horse is outside the 7 horse 2w ready to pass him when the seven came out and bothered number 1. Number 1 is running trap behind 7 most of the race, but not at the time of the incident. Who's fault.

This is like taking away Jordan’s sixth championship bc he pushed Russell. It’s dumb

You have 20 horses in a race and then you act surprised when they get bumped? Most race have 10-12 horses. If Churchill Downs was so greedy this would have never happened.

The 7 got clipped , caused all this! 1 Should come down.

James Dougherty ....the 7 got clipped because he came out and placed himself in front of number1 who was in the outside of number 7 and ready to pass him. 7 have no excuse, he placed himself where he could get clipped, so he got clipped. It is like you.....come to me and I could hurt you......and he did. Apart from all that as of mar9 it is suspected that Maximum ran under the influence of illegal drugs given to him by his trainer, and that is why he ran so erratic. The trainer has been indicted along with other people. The FBI is behind his ass for a reason not because they investigate the innocent.

I dont like that rule if I'm out front in a race then I can go wherever I want on the track in my opinion cuz I'm the leader and the leader controls the race not second place not third place

Dan Patrick just showed his true IGNORANCEof horse racing...At EVERY TRACK there are two SEPARATE VIEWS of the race as it is run...One us the PAN VIEW which is seen by the betting public and simulcast outlets..THE other view is the TOWER or head-on view which is seen by the judges only...The only time this view is seen by the public is when an INQUIRY OR OBJECTION leads to a placing in the race. Kentucky of all jurisdictions had been under the microscope since the BREEDERS CUP fiasco several years ago in the LADIES CLASSIC..At the end of the day the Stewards got it right..SO THERE...

Hard to tell with all of the exacta and trifecta bets then there are the multirace wagers the DQ (which i agree with %100) cost me $11,000 on a pick 5 bet (pick winner 5 straight races) but got paid out 3k on exacta Went 13 All All 13 Code of honor was my main play so Maybe 35 40 million probably

This isn’t NASCAR it’s horse racing. These are animals who if they wreck similar to the idiocy that goes on in NASCAR, will likely result in killing the animal and maybe the jockey as well. Your analogy is weak.

DQ was correct. Problem was stewards failed to do the job quickly. This is horse racing folks. Too bad. Could have been a major disaster obviousness has nothing to do with it.

I agree with DQ Maximum Security. I disagree with awarding the win to Country House. The win by Maximum Security should have been *vacated* and *all* bets that involved a horse to win (including Exactas, Trifectas, etc.) should have been "No Action"ed and refunded. Bets for Country House to Place (or Show) and Code of Honor to Show would still have cashed. The 1st place share of the prize pool would have first covered the House edge of the Refunded bets, with any remainder split among the 18 remaining horses in addition to any prizes won by individual horses.

Total nonsense, you don't change rules midstream to fit what you think is fair. If so then why have any rules at all. You may disagree with awarding the win to Country House but according to the DQ rules, the 2nd place horse in this case is awarded the win whether you think he deserves it or not. It could have been any other horse that finished 2nd but he was the one that did.
