They nailed it with this game, so brutal and gritty. And I love the fact that the body armor in this game actually Catch bullets and does not show blood when hitting the vest. Also the Euphoria was such a nice touch.

@@elijahgavin6706, I think I was like 5-6 years old at that time. If I am not mistaken, Max Payne 2 was released in 2005, so yeah, around that age. It didn't traumatize me, it impressed me. The dark story, atmosphere of desperation and tragic fate of Max himself and everyone around him. As if he was meant to spread death, but couldn't die himself. When I say realistic, I don't mean gameplay mechanics or the idea of one man killing armies of gangsters, but the overall feeling, mood of the game's story. Life is a nightmare, it is struggle, it does hurt and turn people mad. A lot of quotes from the game can be applied to the real world. The difference is that we are not heroes, main characters, but merely background NPCs in the real life

This game was ahead of it’s time glad you’re playing it again!

The shooting mechanics in this game was absolutely amazing. It felt so snappy but well animated at the same time. Also, nice aim! 6:25 Damn!

replaying this really made me appreciate the aiming and gunplay they went for, I wished the game was longer and the cutscenes could be skipped, they missed out a little with the potential but they still have the recipe and can only hope they use it more indepth for a new gta or even ip

the game's killcam mechanics doesn't want to trigger when you shoot the enemy in their feet, thus making it impossible to progress since the game always wants to use the kill cam for the final shot in most fighting segments, until ofcourse you shoot him somewhere else.

Thank you so much for bringing this game back, brings back so much memories.

Max Payne 1-3 and the original FEAR are the games I always replay every couple years because the mechanics are just so well done

@Urn Turn that's true but also an incredibly over simplified statement. You can simplify any genre like that. The mechanics, narration, and physics were ahead of it's time. Bullet time, the dark and gritty noir-style narrative, even the way enemies would react to certain limbs getting shot.. but regardless it showcased what Rockstar, as a collective, was capable of. This was also the peak of Rockstars physics engine before they overhauled it into what GTA5 has.

Imagine if rockstar got the rights to a John wick game with these mechanics… shit my mind would be blown.

Game that's evergreen I have max Payne 3 installed in my every gaming system since it was released. I still play it when I get bored of latest games.

Fantastic game. Just finished the trilogy for the first time recently. I think my favorite is Max Payne 2 for the balance of the story and gameplay. I like 3 moreso for its gameplay, but Max Payne 1 has fantastic presentation and the shooting still feels good.

The beginning of the video is so funny where you keep shooting the guy in the feet, you look like the guy on the paint ball videos where you shoot on the enemy player but he doesn't want to stop playing so you keep shooting him 😂

26 frames of animation per movement is a helluva drug. I broke both disks from overplaying and I’m sad the engine wasn’t in V.

Well they used the same engine but they obviously had to tone it down since using the engine to this extent in an open world game would’ve exploded the x360 and ps3 lol

@@cawashka V is so grid based with its lack of physics that the only thing they really brought over were the graphics and they downgraded those too. MP3 has a reliance on free interaction ragdolls and V glues all entities on a grid, that’s why the NPCs teleport to the ground when they get back up. They’ll even clip through whatever they fall on because all their animations only play out when on the grid.

I need this remastered so fucking bad. I miss playing this!! 😭

FPS and the graphics really makes this game look great

This is pretty much the only reason I kept my ps3. Still play this gem every so often. I remember playing this and my friend seeing it, then going to buy the game and a console to play it on the same day. It was that good.

This is how max payne is supposed to be played minimal bullet time or when it's the most cinematic other then that normal speed good aim and hit the enemy where you want to see them react to it....and no assisted aim

I would absolutely love to see Max Payne 1 & 2 Remade in this engine. I would also really like to see GTA6 play like this.

GTA5 was already in Devlopment when tjis was being made plus. Rockstar were focused on the open world. And Driving, flying, Mini Games there is so much more to worry about.

i just recently beat max Payne 3 for the first time, and I got mad love for it . But max Payne 1-2 is a GEM, we won’t get anything like it again.
