    Wrapped laces, tape on the ankles, rolled sleeves while on ice, loose skates. Folks, you know that one dusty bender on your team? That's this guy, only this guy is an absolute animal. Thanks for the informational video!

    With loosely tied skates, it is often a challenge to find laces that won't be too long to avoid the "ankle wrap" and be able to adequately tighten the lower portion of the skate... The best skaters have always allowed for the flexibility that loose skates offer (Bobby Orr was one)...

  • @Infiniti25

    @Infiniti25

    5 жыл бұрын

    T K I wrapped my laces round my ankles on my roller blades for years. Only when I went to buy ice skates was I told by the shop assistant that I shouldn't. I think it's only to prevent ruining the skates finish, I don't think it's bad to do it. I always like my skates tight up the first 6 or so eyelets and I have a locking eyelet where the ankle bends so technically I could have the laces looser around the ankle but I've never had loose skates so it's alien to me. I do think looser skates improve the ability to bend the knee greatly, will have to get around to trial long having the top portion of my skates loose. Oh and I really recommend waxed laces if you struggle to get a nice tight skate or don't have locking eyelets to help keep the lace from slackening as you work your way up.
