Max Cooper:
Thanks for having a look at my new music video project. It was built around the number 3. I set up a simple rhythm where there are patterns of 3's punctuated by brash marching sort of percussion and direct Moogy synth stabs counting out the numbers. It's the drums which force the 3's, when they disappear and I left the main chord synth running it could sound like a regular collection of 4's running at a different tempo like what you probably hear in the intro. I like how years of club music tricks us back into the 4's and we have to be jolted out of it each time, it's something I used before on Order from Chaos a little more subtly, which I wanted to try in brash format.
I chatted to Natalia about how we could push the threeness further for the video and she had a whole collection of ideas. I love how her work is so abstract and human at the same time, all hand drawn and full of expression in every painstaking frame. I won't try and explain her concept I'm still unfolding it myself to be honest. But huge thanks Natalia for all the months of work on this, it was a labour of love all round, thanks for joining us for the expression experiment.
Natalia Ryss:
I tried to interpret the concept proposed by the composer and reflected in the title “In Threes” and in the structure of the musical track itself.I presented it as an abstraction in different ways/meanings.
I used the most of visuals/ideas from my abstract ideas notebook calls “Book of Nothingness” 2021: www.behance.net/gallery/18339...
“In Threes” means:
Tree as Three (kind of playing with words and symbols):
1. (vegetable) intuitive, soft, rounded shapes, symmetry...
2. (logical) lines, connections, growth, tension, constructions, grid, pendulums, signs...
3. (chaotic) destructive, strobe, interruption, paint run, shapeless spots
in Three Worlds:
1. Lower world (roots, dense lines, red-black-brown colors)
2. Middle world (development, multiplication of forms, fractals, pipes, direction, green-orange-violet-pink colors)
3. Upper world (neural network, flashes, breaks, unfinished forms, glow and flicker, yellow-white-blue colors)
Some kind of consistent half abstract action, which as repetition, loop, with overcoming, hindrances and development of the situation,
sometimes everything starts from the beginning, but in a different way. In the end, the movement goes without failures and images does not
repeat itself literally. New forms multiply, their movement acquires the unity of rhythm.
In the finale, the image-idea of the Tree as an embodiment of the Three Principles unites the manifestations of forms, following the rhythm
of the heart.

Who needs drugs when you have Max Cooper. No other artist I know of so consistently meshes the audio and visual elements into a dance which is much greater than the sum of the parts.

As a synthesis myself, This is some deep dive sound design. A man is deeply, madly, inexhaustibly in love with synthesizers. A girl is clearly obsessed with pens, pencils, and paper, paper, and more paper! Two lives fully lived! Valar Morgulis, valar Doheiris!

@@jivejunior8753 Surprising, right? But we have no evidence of anything else in the strongest archaeology in books about tallies and tokens, and there's A LOT of data, enough to make us not never suppose that any new data here can strongly depreciate the previous.

  • @GEMSofGOD_com

    @GEMSofGOD_com

Think about it. Would we have actual numbers meaning 4, 5, and so on, when we actually didn't find any distinct tallies and tokens resembling the representations of 4, 5, and so on in times of obvious lack of surpluses (when we simply didn't need numbers beyond 2 or 3)? At the same time, with the onset of surpluses, numbers higher than three began to vigorously emerge together with temples and other storehouses and a completely different, more affluent lifestyle similar to the modern one, closer in time to the Persians (Akkads and all of that) and the Egyptians. I've been thinking "think about its" like this most often in the last year while having studied >1000+ books on configurations leading to the emergence of technologies, cultures and sciences in ancient times. This idea about no need for numbers above 2 or 3 for such a long a long time seemed to me one of the most surprising. "Two sheep", "One doge", "many fruits" in simplest geometrical shapes - these were these pieces of clay or whatever.

Another mindblowing idea is that *recessed doorframes* are what started most canons and distinctions in cultures. The first way to draw 3D in 2D in stone right around a door. To show what's behind it. 3D is quite a key everywhere. The reality is this cause 2D plane required for comparisons (time) to exist also requires +1D for these comparisons to get compared (observed - with, consequently, some mass, or energy, or density of comparisons). Simply the fact that the universe is 3D leads to our whole periodic table (from spherical harmonics and Laguerre polynomials), much else besides.

Sounds virtuous, makes no sense. If you are so sensitive to flashing lights that you get a seizure in a second, you can't use social media. And if you aren't that sensitive.. you can stop the video once you see it flashes. Handicapped people aren't stupid. They need help where it matters, not endless trigger warnings.
