He played with 6, in 1985, one broke , he had the lazyness to buy another, a friend suggested why he would not drop the 2 last, then Max said why not as he doesnt use them . For that. On acoustic Max plays more than the 4 strings.

It's crazy that Max contribute to the lyrics but Andres contribute mostly the Sepultura sound since he joined

Max could play complex riffs but his force is in the primitive thing kept and the hook. Even today, with the vocals and of course. Andreas is a monster but even there's a huge work in the last records. To me anyway it lacks of Hook , Max had the Hook. Completed by Iggor .

Basically Max plays the easy riffy stuff and Andreas plays the technical more intricate stuff, leads and weird noises... so the both of them and Igor are the sound of Sepultura because: Triba drumming + Weirdy noises + Heavy easy riffs = Sepultura

beneath has something most albums of the day lacked, the riffs are good, second their are maybe like 20 per song. also max plays chords wich is a godsend for a lead guitar player, find someone who wants to stay still and play chords, igor was a better metal drummer but the tribal beats sound pretty good with metal guitar. your confusing easy with good

Well if you think about it it made more sense that way anyway, Max had to handle vocals at the same time, and usually the vocalists will play the simpler stuff, because playing guitar and doing vocals can be alot trickier if your playing more intricate guitar parts

They really need to make up and stuff, the chemistry between them was unique and awesome. If you are a Sepultura fan, please, send them positive messages. Inspire them to get back with Original Formation. Everybody wins: Derrick was a no-one, but now it will be easy for him make another band and succeed; Eloy is one of the best drummers in the world and he also can make huge with another band too ( maybe with Derrick, who knows?!); but people....Max, Igor, Andreas and Paulo was the Best Metal Band Ever. Thank God Max and Andreas lost their angry over time. I've seen almost all of their interviews and it's visible that they want to make up.

i would love to see the old formation back, but i think it would be really unfair to the guys in the band now, they have been working and fighting to keep Sepultura alive for a long time. I wouldn't mind a reunion tour or a new album tho

the two parts are nowhere near an agreement. They tried a couple of times but always went back to zero. It's gonna be tough, specially bc Max and Gloria won't stop swearing at sepultura everytime they get the chance. Unfortunately, I think this reunion wouldn't work today, sepultura is on a totally different pace and max's voice and guitar playing kinda sucks now. I do hope they can come to terms before someone dies though.

He even played a lot of the bass if not all on some albums. The other guys don't have the same picking hand and can't play some of the picking patterns. They dumb it down live.

Max and Andreas. Max by himself never did anything close to what he did in sepultura. In soulfly he creates simple riff and then Marc Rizzo work on it.

Matthew Prater you must not play guitar. I love Max but you can create a shot ton of good riffs with two strings if need be.

@@lorenzovarela7397 more than half schizophrenia was Max and Jairo ( although he 's not credited ). Also riffs like Troops of Doom, Necromancer, Warrior of death, Funeral rites, and Mayhem , Empire of the damned are amazing. Max did others things such Arise and stuff. Some are complex, some appears more simple. Its a balance thing . I think its a choice, while Iggor can play incredible stuff, the brothers keep that vital primitive feel, and the swing and the rawness along the Hooks are their Force. With Vocals, Max is a genius in Hooks. Something Sepultura doesn't have it much in the last albums, as challenging they re while Andreas does everything. Max i think was the balance in the chemistry in arranging stuff and makes certains riffs and chorus big and hooky. While retain that gutty feel. In my perception anyway. Its difficult to memorize something from Quadra and stuff, as verse , or Chorus. While you will retain Spectrum war, Sanctuary, and Something that Not, Prophecy or others songs. It doesn't matters if its songs with more progressive elements, super brutal underground stuff or catchy simpler songs. You have the money chorus in everything. And make it that way in structuring is more difficult than be tempted by doing 45 notes in each parts.

Sepultura were awesome back in the day. Their album Morbid Visions is classic and funny how they made that album. They barely knew English and had to use a dictionary to rewrite the lyrics into English and that album they didnt even tune their guitars lol.

There is a lot of not nice stuff from them. At least from what I’ve read and heard, Kisser doesn’t seem very bothered by what Max has been doing but Max’s family especially his wife Gloria and Max himself are not in good terms wit them. Especially with how they felt the band kind of betrayed em after the passing of Dana’s death among other things. It’s a sad messy situation really
