But what about the quality? Well, I have been shooting my Maverick 88 shotgun for quite some time now and it is still great. It is a great quality gun for the price, built like a tank, but the best part is, there are so many modifications available out there! Just look at my modified Maverick 88 shotgun and I am not even half way done yet!
Mossberg Maverick 88 12 Gauge All-Purpose Pump-Action Shotgun is the actual name of the shotgun if you want to look it up online.

The wooden dow rod is a plug and it’s for hunting laws. You can only carry 3 rounds in the gun when hunting.
I picked one up last week. Love it!

U don't! Just got mine last night, price was super high, 275 for the foldable stock, pistol grip, but getting any good shotgun is really hard right now...

Most M500 parts will fit the Maverick 88 because the Maverick is basically the economy variant of the M500, a cheaper M500.

I think you can put a 500/590 slide assembly on it but I'm not sure.

The only trigger groups are different. The rest is interchangeable.

It's for duck hunting laws. It's not illegal to remove. But if you want to duck hunt with it. Then you need to keep it.

The quad rail and side saddle are one piece, it also comes with the ATI shell holder
how expensive was the barrel and mag kit? I saw brownells has one but its like over $200 which is ridiculous cause thats more than the gun its self

Sounds about right. I got my and tacted it out with heat shield, 6 position adjustable stock, side saddle and sling and all in was over $200 hehe. Gun itself was only $200.

Your better off getting the 7+1 an 20" barrel. I prefer the 5+1 because you can change barrels easy . You can turn a security weapon into a skeet or hunting gun. I purchased a 28" barrel in case my autoloader malfunctions. That's why the Mossberg 500 is such a great gun. It's a Swiss army gun

@@m2gjam139 It is little bit more expensive , but possible with 20" barrel. You should buy the 5+1 mag tube, and use any of the changes you just mentioned. I believe, but not 💯% sure that 20" 590 7+1 heavy barrel and 20" 88 Security barrel are interchangeable.

@@alexeimagher9083 That would make life easy. LOL the barrel bolt on the 20" barrel is in a different spot than the 181/2" so it won't line up. I have the 500 more than thirty years. They do sell a kit to convert the gun to a 7or 8 round magazine tube, spring and follower also a 20" barrel. But it's expensive and a pain in the ass.. You don't need a heavy barrel you could get a parkerized barrel then you should get a 590a1 I see prices are coming down. Their selling all different types of combinations now. If you're looking for security reasons only get the 20" barrel and 7+1. If you want to go to the skeet range or hunting get the 5+1 and a extra barrel barrel. Hope that helps good luck. You can't beat a Mossberg. I also have the Mossberg 930 semi auto and a Winchester semi also.

@@m2gjam139 I am talking about Mossberg 590 20" barrel 7+1 system. Bolts are on same spots. And I am talking now about the brand new factory set up of 590. 590 and 590A1 are little different.

Great question! Unfortunately it was from small website and it was quite a while ago. But the sidesaddle comes with this railmount built in, so I think you might find it if you search for a maverick 88 railmount online.

Have same model : 88 Security 7+1. What is the length of the rail? Looks like it works as a heat shield as well.

If I remember correctly, that was an 18 inch barrel.

this stock is crap because every time you need to clean your shotgun after shooting, you need to take the grip and stock off to properly clean it that is a pain in the bud. Without taking it off, you won't be able to remove the trigger group for cleaning.

I got mine for 350 Canadian before taxes 3 weeks ago. 20" barrel, 7+1, FDE colour of the stock and forend.

I got mine in nov 2020 for 180 but most were selling for 200. The 6+1 were 170 and everywhere.
