Actually maven should not be confused Dev and testing teams usage. It's not like tht. Maven is just a build tool. Assuming you are a developer, you will write your Dev codes under main java, and your unit tests. Please note, not automation test cases, unit tests for the developed code will be written under test java. For automation, you can even write under main java, but if u want to use command line execution for triggering your test, mvn test, it won't work. Because mvn test command will.trigger the tests under, test java.

Hi Bro, A very good video explaining each field in whilst creating Maven project in Eclipse. I did not install Maven instead, I am using embedded Maven in Eclipse Oxygen. Do you see any downside with this?

Not at all. Latest versions of Eclipse have embedded maven with them. However, if you have to work without an ide, then we have to install in the system. There are times where we have to work on command line alone. In that case, we may need it. For normal cases, the process you are following is absolutely fine.

Actually sometimes the built in Maven comes with eclipse may or may not work as expected. But if the same is with system level, we can do lot of things without any trouble

I want to create Maven(archetype-quickstart)- spring framewok project in netbeans IDE.But when i click Finish button build process start and result was fail to achive goals..It return some maven plugin error .host error..proxy error.. Bro am using Eclipse Oxygen...it has maven embedded version 3.3.9 ....When i try to create a maven project am getting the below error.. Hi Surya, maven resources plugin is not getting installed automatically it seems. Kindly have the maven file downloaded and set the paths first. Second, check the proxy settings in the settings.xml file under .m2 folder. Go to windows, preference, maven, user settings in your Eclipse. And check whether there is a proper file. You can also, check, .m2/repo/org/Apache/,maven/plugins/ maven resources plugin. If there are many versions. Choose the higher version and delete the other one. This may be because of multiple reasons.. hence sharing all the possibilities. Let me know if you need any help. Also refer stack overflow.
