It was almost hard to listen to him intently and watch her reactions at the same time. I am going to have to check that book out, sounds like he is full of great stories. At first I wasn't sure who this pretty lady was or her goals here so I watched a couple of her videos and saw that she's seriously bit by the OD green or AKA: tank bug and is serious. A smart person asks open ended questions that require thought and I can tell by body language of all parties, they relax more around her and tell some interesting stories we never heard from these same professional historians we've spent hours watching over the years. And I really appreciate how she shows respect and gratitude to the Veterans that tell what they know and experienced. I've frozen my ass off in a Halftrack in Bastogne for three days during the event while wearing original uniform and field gear so operating a tank in those conditions is no where near glamorous or fun filled, lol.

@D Bo It isn't as OP in RL as it is in WT, they didn't perform super well during the war, and in RL to name one major difference, the turret is actually manually traversed by the pre existing gearbox in the Flakvierling 38 mount, instead of electrically driven as in WT. I've seen that the max traverse speed is 30 degrees a second, and I think that is fast seeing the mechanism in person. Also the 9 sided turret wasn't properly designed as the center of gravity is approx. 6" off center from the turret ring centerline. This meaning that if the vehicle was on a slight slope, the turret shell would want to rotate one way. The traverse on it was so bad that on newsreel footage, you can see one other person on the engine deck pushing the turret to assist the gunner in traverse.

Moved onto War Thunder and I can't get one there cause GaiJin is stingy as hell with them. I wonder what turret would have been developed for the E100? I've seen some model kits that feature a rounded turret as opposed to the Maus turret that gave it a very modern look for the time.

Wasn’t the Super-Tiger tank Mr. Doyle referred to was, in part, the on-paper design “Panzer VII” Lowe? I think it was a design created by either Krupp or Henschel, and was running in unsuccessful parallel competition with the Panzer VIII Maus. The Lowe was as huge, sleek, and dangerous looking as the Mk. VIII Maus was bulky, brutish, and powerful looking.

Lowe was a Krupp propossed project I believe.

The Lowe, I read somewhere, was supposed to be the Panzer VII. And yes, it was a sleek powerful looking super heavy tank, 85-95 tons. Much more streamlined in appearance than the Maus. The turret had a similar Soviet T-62 “inverted frypan” appearance that also gave the tank a lower profile. I think it was to have a 10.5cm muzzle-braked main rifle.
