In order to win in Mexico 86, Argentina played against 4 world champions: Italy, Uruguay, England and Germany. 4 world champions in 7 matches. Not comparing with Qatar...but what Maradona accomplished in '86 remains, to me, unmatched.

Never mind who is or was the best player of all time. It is impossible to say. What is not impossible to say is that he defined an era of football. What he did, the way he did it. His bigger than life personality and what he gave to all of us, the magic he gave us. That is what we should all celebrate. Thank Diego. Thank for all the joy you gave us. I feel like the best approach to this whole conundrum is premote Ole to the sporting manager role and give Potch the coaching job. I say the same thing. Napoli and Argentina at that time were about the 7/8th best teams in the world and he gets them to the top. Uefa Cup in those days was also hard to win and he managed to do it.

@M C Napoli had some good players but hardly household names(Alemao and Careca were the best of his teammates) and what did he have with Argentina? (Valdano who played for Real and he was rubbish) Messi, Ronaldo and Brazilian Ronaldo all gad great teammates and Pele played in the greatest team ever(1970 Brazil WC team) Maradona easily the greatest. If Messi went to west ham they wouldn't win the Premier league that's the equivalent of what Maradona did with Napoli.
