Brett - Well done. Just scanned the entire coastline of Maui, where I have visited many times, looking for an airport I had never seen. Agreed. I jumped once at Oahu's north shore and I love maps. This is not the island of Maui. My fun story - My wife and I brought our parachutes from Atlanta in 1992. We worked out an arrangement with the airline to take the gear as carry ons in U.S. mail bags. We were the last to board the plane, and several passengers asked us what's in the bag?
Been about 20 years now since I was jumping. Yet I still get that funny feeling when watching an exit on video. LZ that close to an ocean adds a little spice to the endeavor. Beach landings too.

I'd suggest that the glamour of watching others on youtube from the comfort of home makes it seem appealing to your ego. I guarantee you that the second you're in the plane, it will be extremely different, and you'll likely wish you hadn't gone up. It absolutely 1000% is not for everyone, and a bit scared of heights is one thing, but if you're "absolutely terrified of heights", then you will hate it and not want to do it when you're actually up there in that situation. I'd suggest if anything, go up in a plane with other jumpers first and watch them exit the plane and pretend you're there to do it too. If you don't get a magical urge to jump from a plane and risk killing yourself (even the most experienced sometimes have accidents and unforseen faults, collisions and bad landings), then go for it. But given what you just said, I highly highly doubt it. People like to watch action movies and think running around in gun battles would be cool and exciting, but they aren't. They're horrific experiences. This isn't the same, but people equally watch things like this done expertly and nicely filmed while sitting comfy at home and their ego wants to copy them so they can also feel a thrill, but the actual reality of doing it makes them sick with terror. And you know what? That's ok, because not everyone is supposed to enjoy extreme activities, and there's nothing wrong with that. Just a friendly warning, since I have seen so so many people think the same thing and then cry, panic or even faint when they get up in the plane. And boy, you do not want to faint when you're out of the plane...which also happens sometimes.

@AD-kv9kj

Yeah, I dunno if it's so much scared of the height with me. It's more a fear that the parachute can sometimes fail, or someone can collide with you in mid air, or have a bad landing and break bones or worse, or uncontrollably pass out mid air and not be conscious to open your chute, or spin out of control and blow your eyeballs out or some other accident... Even some of the best in the world occasionally can have unforseen accidents, so it's hardly a given that when you jump from the plane you're going to be ok however much training and experience you have. It is not some irrational silly fear, it's a very real fear of very real dangers. People die or become paralysed or injured for life all the time doing these things.

If I wasn’t scared of heights this would be unbelievable beautiful experience for the soul
@AD-kv9kj
Жыл бұрын

I cried because this was a recurring dream i had between 19 and 46 years old. In Dream Time. (-no flight suit-) I was a *different* *Being* Thank you guys, very much. Much love.
This is one of the most beautiful things i have ever seen. I really want to see it myself one day too. Thansk for sharing man, i appreciate it
I did my paragliding over 1 mile high off a mountain clff above clouds in Maui way back in 2007. It was the most surreal feeling ever like THIS IS IT! One mile high vs ground.
Thanks to this video, I can now cross off wind suiting in Maui off my bucket list and I didn't even have to leave home.

Amazing how all the intense excitement at maybe 100 miles per hour ends with a simple landing like hopping down from one stair high.
Damn,that felt like an eternity up there.amazing!!!!✌️

I’m mind blown on how much you can see the curvature of the earth, you guys looked like you jumped near from space 🔥

They use a fish eye lens. You can’t see the curvature of the earth from anywhere on earth

It's not actually that noticable, it's atmospheric reflaction diverting light, so they see PAST the horizon, which I think is pretty cool

dude is using fish eye lenses, Just take a look at the curvature of the seat benched at 0:49 of the video. we both know those benches are not that curved. And take a look at 1:38 you can see the reverse curve of the atmosphere, it makes it look like the the sky is curved inverted.
