Yup, their balance philosophy of "just make the cooldowns longer bro" is not the move, they need to adjust these debuffs and CC universally for tanks specifically, like they already did with sleep dart

Ana’s nade needs to have the “anti” status instead of negate healing to half it or some other factor. Still effective, but doesn’t gatekeep half the tank roster. Right now Mauga only seems playable with Kiriko

Its not just ana, several characters were designed as tank busters in 6v6 to promote focus fire, but now there's only 1 tank which makes all tankbusters from ana to bastion unbalanced

Genuine question I’ve tried asking around before, but why don’t they just make tanks invulnerable to all forms of CC? It obviously works great on Orisa by making her seem “op” to the casual player but I’m sure they could work with the whole “no cc for tanks” concept at least a bit. Maybe tune down all the healing in the game a bit? Tanks really need to feel like the TANK. The dev team honestly should’ve seen all of this coming when they made the decision to remove an entire player from each team. I get having one tank over having one dps, but could they not have made the tank role at least a bit stronger? 😭

It was hilarious to see how fast people learned how to counter him with 24 hours

@@MattNotFat Hog is better since he dominates on Hole Maps then swap to Orisa, Sigma, D Va, or Zarya. The new tank is interesting but very counter able by all Roles.

@Lucas-fk5qr yea, that too, but luckily I'm a not that high ranked ram main, so when I solo ult a support, forget the 1 trillion things that could immediately stop me, I just kill them.

Can’t help but see freaking Maui… just after each kill singing the song “Your Welcome”

He's so fun, even if he isn't meta. I feel alot of his skill ceiling comes with controlling his charge and the alternating shooting of the miniguns.

Yup, lots of maugas I played against didn't utilize both cha cha and gunny to combo and get crit dmg. Most maugas I saw just double fired both guns the whole match and weren't getting full value.

@@silvarrensol8370 well you lose a heck ton of range firing both at the same time lol. Firing one gun at a time is way more accurate at range. You should only be double firing if it's close quarters.

​@@silvarrensol8370it's better to shoot them separately from 7+ meters away because of the spread. It's easy to see if you use the default crosshairs: when you fire both at the same time the spread is huge!

It’s like you didn’t even see them grab the mega or acknowledge that it was an Ana and she hit him with the Anti too so he couldn’t heal. But you say “a support” like it’s not a support that is really strong against him.

It should also be a little easier to set ppl on fire at range, since that's such a major part of his kit but you get limited to only shooting the tank because they're the only ones big and usually close enough to consistently burn during fights. More accuracy when shooting with one gun, or just a more forgiving window to actually apply the burn than currently would go a long way in improving his viability.

Ana winning the 1v1 was crazy

I don’t know if this is an awful take,but I feel like Ana made ruins too much for other tanks, especially for tanks and characters with self heal. I’m wondering if a good change would be, instead of a completely heal stop it maybe a heal reduction? Like 50% or something instead of a complete stop in healing. So then there’s a little room for characters that need to provide for themselves to be viable. Just a thought

I feel like this is a super common take. Hell, even if you only change it for tanks it's much better, it just obliterates tanks since there's currently a very high damage + healing meta, and tanks mostly have to rely on healing to counter a lot of incoming damage - some have their own abilities to help, but they still need supports to cover the downtime. If you suddenly shut off healing, DPS can run away, support has plenty of get out of jail free cards, and tank just explodes.

He is stupid fun and I can’t wait to play him again

Mauga really highlights that Ana auto-counters almost all tanks without sheilds or absorption abilities

Mauga v ana 1v1 in the cage match is like that spiderman scene with randy savage. It looks like one of them should win, but youll never guess what happens next.

I think Mauga is really good for focusing the enemy tank. You have to play smart but you can shred through most tanks pretty fast even with support, but that depends on the support of course.

Fyi, for distance always use burn gun. The burn tick does more damage than the right click crits

seems like a mix of hog and ball, with a buff to let team support themselves kinda if dove.

Maui feels like a giant glass cannon that's very inaccurate.

It seems like you want to build ult charge fast by shooting the tank and then use the ult to trap and kill the squishies.

Bap and Kiri and you feel unstoppable.

Honestly kind of fine with him having a counter in Ana and Zarya. Every character don't need to be good in every situation. Maybe he needs a slight buff to his falloff but otherwise I think he's actually well designed.

I honestly think that if there was thing that the more allies stay inside Mauga's E the more healing he'd get for doing damage would be cool Like, it can give slower healing supps (like Lucioand Brig) some good value and opportunity Also I heard a lot of Mercy players enjoyed pocketing him so that would give them the reason to stay around him more = go for risky plays more = enemies will have more opportunities to kill the mercy (lower ranks really seem to need some help with that)

Personally think that with some exceptions, Mauga is kind of a tank-bust tank almost. Namely because they're some of the few heroes where you don't need godly aim to hit both chain guns.

Dva is technically a counter to him depending on her supports tbh not just because ana but because maugas only self sustain is dealing DMG, if dva is eating all your dmg then no self sustain

I feel like people are gonna start seeing that ana nade is the answer to deleting most of the tank roster & the complaints will get so heavy that nade will be replaced or reworked.

Now that Hog is getting his rework soon especially with the breather change, Mauga will now be the tank with the least survivability in the game if nothing changes upon his official release.
