Very clear and helpful, many thanks. Did you block the squares first?

Hi, I didn't block my squares but blocking before joining is definitely a good idea

I'm making a long scarf that consists of two granny squares on each side for a length of 90 inches. Should I join the squares on one side and then the other and finally join the two very long vertical columns I've created? Or would it be better to join in small groups of such as you did in this demonstration? I've got six squares repeated 9 times for a total of 54 squares. Your demonstration was very helpful, thank you!

Hi, if you make two long strips, it might be easier to join them with a crochet method such as the slip stitch zipper join. And yeah, making 2 long strips by joining the squares as you go (JAYG method) is the easiest way to avoid tons and tons of ends to weave in at the end, so I'd go for this solution!

Thanks for the guidance. This was the first time I am working with granny squares - but I think the next time I'll be making them much bigger for an afghan! I'll try to send a photo of this project when I'm done. Again, thanks so much - you are an excellent teacher and communicator! @@RaffamusaDesigns
