For me, If someone asked me "who is Chris Hau?" I would say he is this youtuber who is insane at automotive photography. I have learned so much in that specific line of photography from you and no one else. I guess that's a strong point of yours that has always stood out to me. that and adding a creative and comedic narrative. regardless, I am in a creative rutt myself and relate 100% to what everybody is going through with creative identity. finding it is really hard. Anyway you are still one of the greats to me and I will continue to follow you and your journey. much love.

I think my favourite videos of yours are where you’ve taken us behind the scenes of a video/photo shoot. As filmmakers it’s a big thing we enjoy seeing because we love the craft and being on set. When your videos became regularly about the tech or using social media I think my interest wavered because I love learning the craft more so which you’ve done some cracking videos of in the past. Particularly remember you lighting a car in the dark with a light beam and layering all the shots to create a beautifully lit product. That kind of stuff was awesome.

Hey Chris.. been watching you! And the “the dope squad” for years.. and I have always said I should start a you tube channel being inspired by all of you.. I have all the skills.. but I never did… until now!! You started yours and it’s changed your life and so many others.. sure you need to make adjustments given the things you’ve been through.. but that’s life.. there is nothing worse than “Not Moving”. Trust me, I know !! Keep growing and changing! 👏👏🇿🇦

I would not be bothered with the success of famous KZreadrs. For example Peter M. - he has I think 6 Million followers, but when you take a look at his views on videos it‘s nothing. I do not understand why he is always the role model.

You know what Chris, I want to see more of your photography! Again another epic location like Mt Fuji, and another well packaged video with no photos from your trip. We your audience would love to see your amazing photo skills, like your car photography (japan is easy the best place for that) Unless you have fully given up on taking photos thats cool, dont force anything you dont enjoy! Thats why I binned video content on my channel! You have so much to teach and show, so teach and show us mate........

Love you, Chris! You've been one of my favorite personalities to watch on these platforms for a bit now. I'm in a weird spot in my journey, and it sounds like you are trying to figure stuff out as well. For me, telling myself to WORRY LESS is top level, and next is to stay keenly sharp to opportunities, and those two things are starting to cause forward motion in my life. Sort of the "instead of setting goals, look for opportunities to act upon" model. Also, even though it's sorta cheesy and overstated, trying to find something to be grateful for every day is both something I KNOW I need to work on more, and when I do it, helps set my day back into happy flow. Happiness is nothing more than having something to look forward to. Cheers to you! Let's kill 2024 in the best way possible!

Jacob Collier once said "disgusting is more interesting than bland" because it provokes a reaction...that we should be chasing the feeling of, "whoa -- I don't know about that" when creating because it's a sign that we're doing something interesting.

It is super hard to not compare yourself to others. It is natural to want to be a part of the tribe, but just like you said the more your just follow others you don't stand out. It is very brave and productive to ask someone else to critique you but that is one of the best ways to grow. Well done!

As a new creator who's always tried to imitate others (my natural personality) - coming into KZread, I'm really keen to find my own way. And watching you guys chat about this is really helpful. So pleased that you're back, and hope to see more content from you. Really like your more laid back - almost introspective - take on your videos. And great to see Matti even though he's not making video's himself this year! I don't know about everyone else - but I enjoyed watching your stuff with Matti and Pete - but just like I enjoy Pete's over the top personality, and Matti's chill vibe - I love watching you just be you and the last couple of video's you've put out just feel so much more you. Can't wait to see more. :)

Chris, for me, I feel like I've learned all the basics just like Tyler said. I've followed a few key KZreadrs for years now. You, Matti, Peter, a few others... and now I'm just here for the entertainment. I'm here for seeing what you all are up to next. Sure I still have things to learn in my film making and photography, but honestly... I just love seeing the videos that show what you all are up to nowadays. I think some of your core audience probably would enjoy that type of content too. If you were enthusiastic about a particular topic, or travel, I think your audience would tune into that and enjoy watching that.

I have to agree - followed you originally for your photography info - but now it's like catching up with an old friend. It's great to see you doing things you're passionate about. They say that you are the mix of the 5 people you hang out with the most - and it's nice to "hang out" on youtube with people who are happy and growing and enthusiastic, especially when you don't have enough in your day to day life. :)

First things first... I watched Matti's video...maybe I missed it, but "quitting youtube"? Is he independently wealthy and no longer going to work or is there another job/line of work he's going to pursue? His video was full of philosophy and montage clips so I really got lost in the point...sorry, it might be just me. Regarding YOUR video, one thing that I's start with in terms of comparing you with Matti (in terms of on-screen persona, and coming from someone that doesn't know either one of you) is that you come across happier, friendlier, and more approachable. You're somebody people would want to be with...you seem more fun and relaxed (again, on screen persona). Next, my view is that most people are successful and happy if they enjoy what they're doing and passionate about doing it. So for example, when you say that you want to do more travel, I'd ask why? is that because more travel is some expectation? Let's say that you travel to 100 countries this year...so what? so you can make travel videos? what is it ABOUT travel that gets you excited--THAT's what your videos should be about whether your travel 1000 miles to go somewhere, or 5 miles down the road. When you think about different things you COULD do, which of those interest you... do you want to feature places, products, people, culture, problems, emotions...what? And back to my original point about your persona...if people like watching YOU because you're friendly and approachable, then that should be the central theme in your work...come have fun whether simple or fancy, fast or slow, exotic or conventional. Rather than thinking about sharing your knowledge with people, think more about sharing your company with people...they will listen to you as you walk side by side, not as you stand in front of them and lecture. I don't think it's complicated...do what you like, and what excites you, and people will want to go along on the ride...

Any video title that tries to and be coy about what it wants to say by using "this!" instead of communicating the actual content is clickbait. It's the most transparent form of gaming the algorithm by playing on people's curiosity rather than appealing honestly to their interests. Everyone does it and it is one of the worst things about YT right now. @@thechrishau
