If it seems like I'm interrupting Matthias a lot at the beginning, it's because there was a slight delay between us. It took my dumbass a bit to figure that out. Join The Last Kumite team! www.kickstarter.com/projects/thelastkumite/the-last-kumite

I'm guessing the movie he said was stolen with Diane Lane was maybe Untraceable? Colin Hanks was in it too.
If Seagal even dreams that he's as awesome as Matthias he better wake up and apologize!

I've had to split viewing into a few sittings, but I'm just so blown away by Matthias' genuine kindness. No ego, just someone who loves movies and others involved in movies. The way he offered to help you get more interviews and asked for links to read your books. The giant of a man who played so many scary B movie villains is clearly such a sweet human being. This whole project is just so amazing. You must feel like you're living in a fever dream right now LOL

When it came up that Jason was a writer for 10 years, he asked instantly: Ohh! What did you write? Jason went on with the thoughts he had rolling skipping answering to that, and Matthias just broke a warm smile. :D

Matthias has always been one of the most recognizable "oh hey it's that guy" actors in action cinema. (You know the types, guys you'd see over and over but didn't even know their names.) I'm willing to bet all the "that guys" have great stories just from the sheer amount of work they did while kinda cruising just at-or-below radar level haha.

@@tychosis There are a couple of books by Timon Singh (Born to be bad Vol.1 & 2), in which he interviews action movie villains - including Matthias - and the majority of them are great characters in real life, with lots of anecdotes (and very definite opinions about Steven Seagal).

Originally the expression was "In the day OF/WHEN [such-and-such]". Now it sounds uneducated to hear only the fragment of the original expression. For example -- "Back in the day when I was a tadpole" or "Back in the day when folks understood the unlikeness between men and women." Gather on Me! Listen to Prem Rawat!
Matthias is an absolute legend and I grew up watching his films, was always a great villain, seems like a great guy as well 👍
To be honest, I teared up a little at the end when Matthias expressed interest in being a guest on your show.

Matthias’s energy is outstanding, this was a wonderful interview!
I LOVED this guy as a kid!! He's always been my FAVORITE "bad guy" in the 80's & 90's action/martial arts movies!! He made Dolph Lundgren look like an absolute SCHOOL BOY in "I Come In Peace" (aka "Dark Angel")!! When you can make Dolph Lundgren look like "the underdog",, you're DOING SOMETHING!! 🤣👍
