Matt is a massive inspiration to me, Trivium, Metallica and Pantera are the bands that have motivated and inspired me to pick the guitar up and keep trying to better myself, Matt's riffs are absolutely jaw droppingly bad-ass. It's mad because the things that are important to him in his daily routine are things that anyone can do if they want to, like even if you have nothing, yet we seem focus too much on what we haven't got or things we want that are out of our reach, yet here's this dude who's extremely successful and probably has the means to do whatever the F he wanted but has an insane level of discipline. I admit I would probably give in to all sorts of certain vices. It's so awesome to see it's the little things that mean a lot to him. He is such a cool human being

Sending best wishes to all of your families and, well, everyone in the Florida area - I hope any effects of the Hurricane that's landing/landed there is minimal to all. Such as what exercises you do for your vocal warm ups, if you use any specific apps for the yoga and meditation. I think a lot of people including myself would love to try this stuff out but have no idea where to start . As there's a lot of information on the internet, sometimes its nice if someone can just post whats the best content they've personally found thats helper. Great vid!

Taking care of my mind and setting myself up for the day before I start work, etc. It's unreal how sad and down I felt 8 weeks ago, to feeling completely at peace having discipline in my life. It's really great to see the discipline you have for yourself and it seems to be working wonders, there are a couple of great ideas in this video I will implement in my self-care routine. Hey Matt! Im just realizing Shogun turns 15 this year. As did All Hope Is Gone. I remember in 2008 just discovering metal and Trivium and Slipknot were the first 2 bands I fell in love with. I remember getting to experience for the first time the thrill and excitement that comes from a band you love releasing a record. I actually recall buying both of those albums on iTunes as soon as they came out. Shortly after Slipknot announced the All Hope is Gone tour. I begged my family to let me go. They obliged lol. First ever concert at 14 years old. I remember after your set (you guys are the first band I EVER saw live) I was so blown away, I turned to my friend and said “I wanna learn to play guitar now” and all these years later I still play. And this video inspired me. You’re the man, Matt!

Duuuude, I was just thinking the other day that I wanted to see more stuff like this from you. Sort of like the video years ago walking down the street and around town in Europe somewhere

Epic stuff, alot of bands back in the day on tour would just be either partying every day and wondered why they broke up or got lazy, not trivium Mediation, warm ups, yoga, saunas, weight training, calasthetics, Ju jitsu, stretching, journaling, etc means trivium will be around for many years to come.

Could you suggest/share some of your steel mace exercises? That sounds like something that would be fun to incorporate! Also, kind of off topic but is it possible to have a setup video of your old MKH7?

You are a great example of a person Matt. I hope that both you and Trivium continue to find inspiration to create more musical content than what you already have is very good.

Hey there! Really loved learning more about YOU as a person, as a musician, and as a human who is doing what they can to be their best and live their best life. I resonate with so many things you said and wow, I feel validated! :) I am good friends with Kyle Abbott who connected with me the other day to inquire about helping to find you taiko drums! I hope that you are able to acquire a few drums and can begin incorporating them into your music! If you ever want to learn basic techniques/form or more about the history of the drum, give me a shout! I'd be more than happy to share! Best of luck in all you do, and keep up the amazing work! -Jason

Foam rolling legs can be quite painful sometimes, quads especially! I completely agree about having good blood circulation, mind becomes so much brighter and more energy throughout the day.

Thanks for sharing your day !! awesome. Love the song at 3:50…. Anyone know which one it is ? (Also remember how cool and chill you guys were many years ago in Paris, opening for Arch Enemy. Buddy and I came to the show just for you guys (and discovered Arch Enemy), but during the AE show we’re just chilling with you guys at the merch kiosk. You guys were so open, available and reachable!)
