Does it really matter? A person is dead and his eternal fate is sealed, whatever it is. Can we have some empathy for that? Life is hard, we live in a fallen world and a lot of people succumb to all manner of vices and troubles, including PRIDE. So sad and tragic. Moral of this is you can't leave a person with mental health issues alone. If you have a loved one in this condition, make sure you don't ignore them. Also, I think there needs to be more awareness about mental health issues. I have to somewhat question therapists who are psychiatrists or psychologists in regard to not recommending some patients with severe depression to have constant care of the patient.

So he stopped breathing either due to sleep apnea or due to apnea as a side effect of the drugs in his system, and wasn’t able to overcome it due to the drugs and the heat of the hot tub keeping him in a lethargic state. When he went under the water he was already not breathing, so water didn’t enter his lungs and that’s how they know he didn’t drown. The diabetes diagnosis is not surprising considering years of severe alcoholism, alcohol is like sugar on steroids in terms of how the body deals with it metabolically. The coronary artery disease is to be expected in someone who was a heavy smoker. And being overweight was probably because as an addictive personality he also had a food issue, or may have replaced alcohol with food when he quit drinking. Either way, very very sad at age 54 and a real testament to what lifestyle choices can do to your body.

So many other news reports danced around just saying what was true, he OD’d and drowning was secondary! It’s so sad, he could’ve had so much with so many adoring fans who loved him, but tragically, he needed to love himself as well. This story is what may help others in their journeys to sobriety, let’s hope. Thanks for the memories, may you now hopefully see your own worth….may your spirit help you to see how many saw you…RIP

"And mention in the Book, Ibrahim. Indeed, he was a man of truth and a prophet. When he said to his father, 'O my father, why do you worship that which does not hear or see or benefit you in any way? O my father, indeed, there has come to me of knowledge that which has not come to you, so follow me; I will guide you to a straight path. O my father, do not worship Satan. Indeed, Satan has ever been, to the Most Merciful, disobedient. O my father, indeed I fear that there will touch you a punishment from the Most Merciful so you would be to Satan a companion.' [His father] said, 'Have you no desire for my gods, O Ibrahim? If you do not desist, I will surely stone you, so avoid me a prolonged time.' [Ibrahim] said, 'Peace be upon you. I will ask forgiveness for you from my Lord. Indeed, He is ever gracious to me. And I will leave you and those you invoke other than Allah and will invoke my Lord. I expect that I will not be in invocation to my Lord unhappy.' So when he had left them and those they worshipped other than Allah, We gave him Isaac and Jacob, and each [of them] We made a prophet." (Quran 19:41-49)

How Human Nature Works Human nature is the desire to receive, also called “desire to enjoy,” and it functions by receiving what is beneficial to itself and rejecting what is harmful. Everything in our lives is built upon this calculation where we first try to distance ourselves from harm, and then seek how to draw ourselves closer to what is beneficial. Human nature also includes a multilayering of systems that work simultaneously on still, vegetative, animate and human levels. One of those systems is our bodily one, which operates involuntarily. If our bodies are healthy, then they know what is good for them and draw that goodness to themselves. After the bodily system, there is the emotional system, which also functions relatively according to instinct. From the emotional system, we move to the mind, and from the mind to the intellect, and so on. That is, we have systems over systems that concurrently work on receiving what is beneficial and rejecting what is harmful. Such is human nature and the essence of our lives. Our every desire, thought and action operates according to the calculation, “How can we receive what is most beneficial to us and reject what is harmful?”
