My son is a paramedic, he tells me any doctor that prescribes ketamine should lose his license. 🤷🏻‍♂️

That is completely ridiculous. Ketamine is recognized as safe and effective by most physicians. I’d make sure your son knows this.

Sadly he didn't like many overcome his addiction...I just wonder how he got it if his last dose was given a week before. This can be sold on the street? Sounds more like sucide than accidental.

Ketamine causes blood pressure to rise. Hot tubs cause blood pressure to decrease. Older individual, with history of chronic drug use, passes away. Issue isn't with the substance or the tub but the careless use of both. Ketamine is a miracle drug for depression and it's sad that this is how it's being highlighted in the media.

The take away is simple. Medications are safe when used as prescribed for necessary ailments. Using chemicals recreationally, i.e., not as intended, you're going to eventually play a losing hand. It's not rocket science, but just common sense.

I don’t believe the reports that were televised. Ketamine doesn’t have a lasting effect on anyone more than a couple hours. 3 tops. I have spoken to Dr’s who administer the medication. What it’s used for, the effects, how long duration time is, you get the idea. I truly believe that people were wanting some kind of sensationalism, so they found it with Matthew Perry. It’s absolutely ludicrous.

He might very been getting it at rehab or his therapist. It's used in depression & opiod withdrawal treatment. He wasn't relapsed partying & accidentally OD'ed. He probably took it and then later went in the hot tub and his heart couldn't take it.

I'm sorry that you had to go through that awful ordeal. It sounds like you defiantly had a traumatic experience. Ketamine is safe and has been used for decades for children as a sedative. Personally, my spouse has had for the first time in his life, his depression lifted because of ketamine treatments. It's a disassociate drug, in low doses it will feel like you are just getting tipsy and giggly, in high doses so it will make you feel like you have crossed into a different place/universes completely, I totally get why you would want to tell your family about it!!! I'm glad your out of the hospital and home!!

I'm on it for major Depressive Disorder. I get the nasal spray from a compound pharmacy. I've tried pretty much everything but ketamine has been my life saver. I use it 3 times a week. It's $50 (In Arkansas) because insurance won't cover it yet for depression.
