He was using a Line 6 HX Stomp I believe, so would have borrowed that from Yamaha (who own Line 6). If you’re travelling from abroad you try not to take anything as it gets complex with U.S. customs. Last time I did something at NAMM I had to borrow from a couple of companies, which involves a bit of form filling and trust. I was doing performances for Yamaha, Hartman and another brand and forgot Line6 were owned by Yamaha, so flew out my HX Effects.

This video is the clear example of the next level of ejecution in guitar for the future. No doubt probably this is the best natural video from the last 10 years in jazz improvisation, Mateo is above of some legends in guitar by mant reasons.

He would like and appreciate him alright but he would probably make a joke about his playing that would be misunderstood by 99% of the people. It is often hard to tell whether he is being complimentary in an awkwardly humorous way or just being an asshole.

@@MartinMaat Born in the early 60's and seen a lot of Blackmore and his negativity. Respect is something earned, respect is thee only thing you take to the grave. I'm not going to lie, when billions of people have to work 40 yrs a week and Blackmore has a gift and gets to do what he loves, and is a vile putrid dark soul wretched stench of 98% negativity, sorry but I have no respect for "Mr Sour Puss!" Yes he is a fave and a top tier guitarists but his personality and his involvement in the occult makes him a POS! (PILE.) 1 mO time i'm not going to lie and sugar coat things. What an abomination to act like that when most people are struggling working jobs they hate and barely make it/exist $ wise; yet they have a beautiful positive attitude that's inspiring, infectious and UP LIFTING. U're right, this type of comment("the greatest","best of all time" etc) is ridiculous lol Matteo is a kid,he doesn't have a whole career already and he is the "greatest"?? He's a great improviser for sure and his finger technique is awesome but he has a lot to prove(which is 100% normal),his rhythm playing for example needs work etc I like Matteo's playing I hope he'll became a world guitar icon in the future(he deserves) but PLEASE,stop saying non-sense things and stay on earth when you comment videos on yt 😂

I probably didn't explain myself well. I was simply noticing that there is a huge difference between being good at your instrument and being a GOOD MUSICIAN. my comment was intended as a compliment to cory wong, who has a 360° musical feeling and is not solely focused on his instrument.

Exactly! I don’t get the hype of a classical guitar player handed an electric guitar being “the greatest”. People are always jumping the bandwagon and shiniest new fad out there. He ain’t even the most versatile guitarist I’ve ever seen. Last time I checked, people were saying the same thing about Ichika, or Tim Henson, or Asato. And now it hasn’t even been a year yet and people just pull out of their a$$ that the greatest guitar player is electrified flamenco/classical guitar player 😂

Disagree. Not many can shred like Matteo, but Cory is so friggin’ locked, rhythmically tight, and musical. He’s giving him a perfect canvas to solo over, like a perfectly tight backing band. He’s mining more ideas and bringing some variety to an 8-minute jam. Just my thoughts!
