To put it in perspective, female sopranos are generally expected to range from C4 to C6, which falls and octave short of C7. However, I'm sure that this is his whistle range, which tends to extend to D7 (the second note of his trill). Ariana Grande can hit a E7, one note above Matteo. So yeah, it's pretty high (but it also sounds quite uncontrolled so--)

Funny thing is, the guy that played sharpays brother actually wanted his character to be gay, and the director thought it's a great idea but Disney said no and enforced a shitty love story with that piano girl or sth, but they were literally like "he's gay and everybody will know it" Thats why he switched clothes with Chad, it was a *wink wink* to the audience, and then there was an additional scene on DVD I think where Sharpays Bro and the guy that loved Sharpay just made out

Racism, sexism,, homophobia... yep, all learned behaviors. Doesn't even have to be overt for them to figure it out. Kids will notice when someone looks or acts different to them or others in their friends group but it's not until those differences are pointed out & labeled as "lesser" or "other" by friends & family that it becomes an issue. Peer pressure, socioeconomic standing, geography, cultural history & media exposure all exacerbate the issues if we aren't actively working to Fix It. Speaking of: I will never understand why DeSatan is going out on this limb... kids smart enough to take AP African American studies? Yeah he's lost all of them already... he's just giving them fuel for the fire, another reason to protest & call them out. And one sure fire way to get ME interested, to get ME to read or learn something... is to tell me no. (I only WISH I'd had access to this kind of class when I was in HS. Luckily my AP History teachers worked a LOT of it into the curriculum, but still...a dedicated class? So jealous!)

It’s called a “gay accent” & its a very real phenomenon that’s been studied by linguists. They even made a documentary about it. We still have regional accents too so I for example have a gay, southern accent. 🤷🏼‍♂️ It’s not intentional. I remember trying to hide it when I was a teen & closeted. By the end of the day my throat would be sore from straining my vocal chords trying to “sound straight” by speaking with a lower voice. Good times (not) lol 😂

Omg! Same. I have always spoken in high pitch and when I force it 'down' it kills my throat. It took me years to learn how to feel the difference between my natural 'pink' voice-which is my default setting and the 'manly' voice I never utilised. Turns out that my default setting is speaking from my larynx. When I'm tired, smoked too much or barely slept, I speak from my diaphragm and a lot lower. But I have to consciously 'switch'. I have heard that the pitch isn't the giveaway. It's the pattern of tone. 'Femme' voices tend to end in upward inflections when speaking. 'Butch' voices tend to end in downward inflections. I have heard men with very high pitches and nobody told them they sounded femme. Its the pattern of tone.
