こんな辛いことがあって、この曲を歌うことはすごく勇気がいることだと思う。 彼と彼のご家族に神のご加護を、お祈りします。

この放送、良く憶えています。(当時。日本放送は、スカパーで半年遅れくらい)辛い事なのに、マットさんが淡々と話しているのが印象的でした。前を向いて歩いて行く為に、決意表明の場に、AGTを選ばれたのかな。と観ていて思いました。素敵なお父さん。今はどうされているのかな、哀しみを乗り越えられた事、願ってやみません。

４人にYesをもらってから、子供の顔を見た瞬間の笑顔が最高。 強くて優しい、かっこいいパパ。

切ないけど、気持ちがこもってる歌は引き込まれるな

神様に与えられた試練を乗り越えて幸せになって欲しい 素敵な人すぎる

ただただカッコイイ。そして優しい父親だね。この10分に愛が溢れかえってるよ。

よく「悲しい過去がある系は好きじゃない」ってコメントも見かけるけど、その人の過去や背景を知るからこそ歌に込められた思いを十分に知ることができるんだと思ってる 悲しい過去があっても、人の心を動かせるものがなければ評価はされないからね

自分も２児の父親です。妻は健在ですが同じ立場ならと思うと辛いです。子供たちがマットにとって本当に心の支え、より所なんだろうなと感じました。歌もほんとに素晴らしく心に響きました。 最後の「アイスクリームを食べよう」がどこの父親も子供達と出掛けると同じような事をするんだなと勝手に親近感湧きました🥰

My wife and I saw him in a concert at Alabama Hills [lone pine] open area, perfect acoustics; 6 piece wind instrument band, he sang PERFECTLY; the Frank Senatra era songs, and tossed in some Michael Jackson, and Spanish. He is a Spanish teacher. I will never forget that event, it was catered with a meal and drinks et al. God Bless You Matt. I was heart broken when we heard. You'll see her again, "but hopefully not yet" sing take care of children as I know you will. Thank you Matt for concert..I still tear up. Semper Fi VN combat Vet.

I AGREE WITH YOUR WORDS, BUT MUST ADD...THE PAIN OF SUCH A DEEP LOSS IN A LOVE SO RARE AND SO OF GOD WILL NEVER LEAVE. MY HEART GOES OUT TO THIS MAN, IN THE MANY EMOTIONS HE FEELS ALL THE DAYS AND NIGHTS OF HIS LIFE. I KNOW HIS CHILDREN MAKE HIM FEEL SO BLESSED AND THAT HIS WIFE IS WITH THEM, AS A PART OF HER IS WHAT MADE THEM A FAMILY. HOWEVER, LIFE IS A MIXTURE OF MANY ENDLESS REALITIES...AND FOR ME, I CAN'T HELP BUT THINK ABOUT THE PAIN THAT MATT FEELS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT...WHEN ALL IS CALM, QUIET AND EVER SO PIERCINGLY SILENT THAT HIS HEART IS BLEEDING ON THE FLOOR TO HAVE ANOTHER MOMENT, AN HOUR, A NIGHT, A DAY WITH THE BEST LOVE OF HIS LIFE.
