He did nothing for the Lions except ask to be traded after 11 unsuccesful seasons of not winning a dividion title or one single postseason game. All of the success which the Lions are now enjoying has happened since Stafford was traded and no longer a part of this team.

It was a rough decade of Lions football under Stafford but nobody could ever question his toughness and arm talent. The one thing media does not cover much with Matthew. Stafford and his wife Kelly is every Christmas. They go in take care of a family who's had times or tragedy and they spend the whole Christmas Eve with them, giving them presents. And not just the drop off. I mean, they literally will spend the whole night with them.. Lots of great christmas gifts for thier children and their families.

Lions my team. Stafford became my favorite his rookie year when he got crushed v Cleveland and still led them to a win. Legendary leader.

The injuries are getting him now. When he does retire he has that beautiful superbowl ring.

I hope Stafford becomes a quarterbacks coach after he retires. I think he'd be great in that role.

Huge Lions fan here and I can honestly say that I was emotionally conflicted a couple years ago when we played Stafford and the Rams. Only time EVER in my life i was semi rooting for the lions to lose because i want to see Stafford in HoF

I'm a panthers fan, but respect to Stafford. If anyone was deserving of a ring it was him. All those years staying with the lions and the immediate ring season on his trade to LAR. He's got nothing left to prove, i don't think anyone with sense wood be upset if he retired right now.

I believe his wife was a huge supporter of almost anything Detroit. She promoted local businesses quite often. That was a very nice gesture on her part and i believe it would have gotten much more traction had she stayed in Detroit.
