Amazing! I've been Travis picking for about a year and a half and had never heard anyone explain the 1 2+3+4+ method which explains why when i play "Dust in the Wind" I would never sound right no matter how I played which was more of a 1+2+3+4. Thank you and keep up the great work.

Do you think you can talk a little about how exactly to position finger tips and where exactly on the tips I should be to reduce my muting please it would be so helpful to see a zoom in shot of your finger tips too 🙏🏼

Matt, I’m 75 and recently took up the guitar again after a 40-year lay-off. I’m determined to learn this picking pattern and I have a question - are you using the fingernails of your 1st and middle finger, or the fleshy part of the fingertip to pluck the string? I don’t like the sound when I catch a nail on a string; it’s in sharp contrast to the soft sound of the thumb’s bass notes. Do you keep your right-hand fingernails short to avoid a nail catching the string, or do you play those treble notes with your fingernails? Thanks for your help, and for the great videos! 👍

It's very difficult for me to remember the order after studying several times. It's too quick and a visual aid would help. I am in England desperate to practice the pattern but cant clearly get the pattern Seems to vary between the different teachers on youtube.

I love your videos but why can’t we ditch the Latin? Is it only for doctors? Maybe THAT’s why my pickin’ is so sloppy? Lol By the way, your the only teacher that I know that addresses that “swishy” sound because your (mine) fingers are hitting the string on a slant! I’m doomed! Thank you! It’s not just in my mind. Lol
